This thread has turned into an interesting insight into human phsycology and confirmation bias.

Every time I turn the telly or radio onto a football show everybody is talking about City. For the first time in the club's history the entire world's football media are raving about us and how good we are.

Yet still people find weird little corners of the media where they can take offence.

I can accept some of the posts on this thread are a bit over the top but the below is from a reporter from the Daily Mail and his take on our winner...

'When David Silva dangled out a leg to force Kevin De Bruyne's cross beyond West Ham goalkeeper Adrian on Sunday, Manchester City had found their fourth late winner of the season.'

Do I have my Blue tinted glasses on to object to that ? Dangled out a leg !!! It was an excellent piece of skill by Silva and yet that is the standard of reporting we get lumbered with.

Genuinely, someone suggested to me at the match yesterday that the media are building up our winning run to deliberately put more pressure on us so that we lose.

Ha, I’ve heard someone say something similar recently. I genuinely worry about the sanity of some people.

Gotta agree. We're being praised to the rafters by most of the media. Today i read that Henry and Carragher have Silva down as one of, if not the, best foreigner to ever play in prem. Followed by chuckle No2's gushing praise on the beeb website.

Someone posted a picture of their Twitter timeline yesterday, and it neatly sums up how almost everyone seemingly thinks commentators are against them:

Take your pick

To be fair that's kind of how I saw it second half. Willing us to score might be a bit of an extreme but he was talking like it was expected.

All media are just interested in click bate. Its a numbers game, and they play to the majority all the time.

You prove my point perfectly. You are exhibiting Confirmation Bias. I had to read your quote a couple of times before I even saw your perceived "problem".

Go on then what is my problem ? and bearing in mind I highlighted what I see as rubbish reporting to save you having to guess, i am amazed you had to read my post twice.
A genuinely good, no, very good goal is described in that manner, come on. I fully accept we are being praised by many pundits but if a reporter cannot accurately describe a well executed shot he needs another career.

Sorry mate, I'm not getting sucked into this kind of paranoid shite.

You may want to ask yourself why have they come to that conclusion now after 8 years he has been totally ignored.

I don't come on this site half as much as i used to because it's become a cauldron of paranoia where the very thin skinned live.

It's a shame because it used to be a great forum but the obsession with finding negativity in the media towards us is so ingrained with posters that it has become a theme that runs through every single thread. It could be a topic about the Greek third division and someone will pipe up with something to do with how hard done to City are in some way. Sometimes when something isn't even negative they will spin it (just like the journalists they say they hate) to make it sound like it's worth getting up in arms about.

I find it all bizarre and a shame that our fanbase - once the thickest skinned fans in the country - has become like this. Some of us have become the Northern equivalent of Arsenal fans.

I did feel Tyler was hoping for a repeat of the excitement and drama of Huddersfield.

He seemed ecstatic West Ham got their goal, and was then salivating at us camped in the West Ham third as the clock ticked on. Then he commentated on Silva's goal as if it were in the 91st minute not 81st.

I don't really blame him, or any neutral though because it is probably the most exciting thing that could have happened. Certainly didn't feel he was against us or for us particularly over 90 minutes.

Yep, I'm absolutely sure every neutral did celebrate West Ham's goal. A team on a run like City's going behind to one struggling? That's what football's about and always has been - otherwise what's the point in watching?

I never really get how much abuse Martin Tyler gets. He's said himself he sometimes gets the reaction a bit wrong - in other words, he's human. And City were poor (for them) first half yesterday, and very good second half. Reflecting that is his job.

He will always come in his pants if a rag scores though.

Neville was bleating on about our shoddy defence again and how we can be got at.....yet failed to realise we've only let one more in than utd!! Like all the other 659m dickheads out there the pain of seeing us score from being behind must burn his stomach up.
Boo hoo.
