Not sure if ive copied link correctly? Guardian article found via newsnow.

I shouldnt be surprised but fcuk me its annoying, wankers.
As soon as the words "Manchester City’s success is built on the labour extracted by the rulers of a modern feudal state." Are mentioned you know which direction the article is heading. Such a pity that a respected newspaper prints such bitter and small minded drivel.

This whole UAE human rights narrative appears to be received wisdom in certain quarters - and yet Tony Blair, of whom the Guardian were pretty strident acolytes, is, I expect, responsible for far more human rights abuses in the Middle East than (for example) the Ayatollah Khomeini and Hosni Mubarak combined.

BT tonight
Were top of the league and win 4-0 and f-CK ALL mentioned.
It must be with us being BORING.
Having said that I don't need the tv to tell me just how AMAZING this city team are playing.
C.T.I.D

This "human rights abuse" shite makes me angry. In my work in Thailand and Vietnam, I came into contact with hundreds of low paid workers. In Thailand, most were from the poorer parts of Thailand but many too were from various parts of Burma, Laos and Cambodia. Their working conditions at home could be pretty appalling. In Vietnam 15 years ago, the best paid Supervisors were getting paid less than 200 US per month. The talk is often understandably about where they can go to get paid that little bit more which would allow them to save the modest amount of cash needed to set up a small business, clear their family debts, or whatever.
If they are going to the Middle East, it might just be because they are being offered BETTER PAID work than in their own countries and they might just be happy to go there to earn it. It may not be a bed of roses, but it's not the gross exploitation this pratt and others have been spouting for years. Its lazy journalism and much of it is factually incorrect

I like that rather than praising us, the narrative is being changed to "they aren't the best of all time". Sad fuckers

Toned down version of an article that appeared last week on a website nobody had ever heard of before but somehow got massive publicity.

Funny, not a peep about this issue for years (despite winning the league twice) and then all of a sudden it’s a hot media topic. And all within a fortnight of wiping the floor with the rags on their own turf and in front of a huge TV audience, in the process of opening up an 11 point lead over them in the season they were supposed to win the league. Go figure.

Coming home from the match.

Had Talk Shite on the car radio.

Burnley v Spurs.

Joey Barton talking about Burnley.

""They've done great in comparison to City, who have spent £300mill this season".

Or words to that effect.

He did say "£300mill this season".

Thick Scouse t***!
It's easy to forget, mainly because no twat in the media ever bothers to point it out, that for all the talk of the money we spent in the summer and the players we brought in: one has been injured for most of the season, one is a goalkeeper and two are on the bench every week.

There's only Walker outfield who's playing every week. The rest are last seasons team. Infact 8 of the starting lineup yesterday were Pellegrini players. The same players who just about got us into the top 4 two years ago. Whatever credit Pep is getting right now, it's nowhere near enough.

I can’t remember which podcast, but Tim Sherwood made a great point, when asked about Guardiola’s coaching methods.

“Thanks to the brilliance of Guardiola, Fabian Delph will be on the plane to Russia next summer”

Delphino should be first name on the team sheet. All credit to Pep and for Delph for believing.

I've just read the article in the Guardian, and two things occured to me. Firstly the author admits he follows Man Utd, and secondly (I could be wrong here, but I'm guessing from his name, Nick Cohen) the author is also of the Jewish religion. If so, to expect a balanced article from this gentleman on an Arab person owning Manchester City is a bit remote.

Whilst i am in no way an expert on the geo-political issues of this region, the overriding feeling i have all the time when the gulf state regions are in the news is one of hypocrisy. No western government or corporation seems to have any great inclination to effect any change in the area as long as the establishment there is made welcome on any occasion (ruling elite always welcomes ruling elite) and as long as there are billions of dollars/pounds to be made in defence, finance, petro-chem, infrastructure, architectural and engineering trades then the sour truth is the situation will continue as is.

Perhaps the Sheik's family owning CFG, and the heightened world-wide publicity and awareness that comes with that, can give the Gulf State leaders some momentum in improving the way their lands are governed? After all, everybody is saying the Sheikh only bought us to enhance the image of AD and the region, so perhaps a positive will come of this? Someone should try reporting on that.

He declares himself a rag in the first sentence, that was enough for me.
Also, resorting to sci-fi in an attempt to prove his case? At least get it right, the Morlocks were the masters - keeping the Eloi for food.

Numpty. (Not you Rick;-)).

Strange no one has mentioned the ethics of running a trailer park empire in the US, financial iffiness reported in the N.Y. Times or indeed the dodgy aquisition of Russian state assets - The lists go on and on. Ah well.
By western standards of democracy the UAE is ranked the 28th happiest place in the world to live (the UK is ranked 23rd). Strange that for a despotic regime.

Just reading the match report in the Sunday Times, Delph 6 out of 10, Gundogan 4 out of 10??!! Walker 6, Otamendi 6??!! What the fucking fuck?!

I see there’s the City haven’t won anything, City aren’t great sound bites from Neville and Scholes. You can almost smell the fear and hear desperation!

I don’t remember any of us stating we are the greatest ever premier league side !!

Rolls eyes
