Had lunch in a transport café in Widnes, reading the Echo. A puff piece on how well Klopp has done, including that he got Liverpool to 2nd and within 12 points of Manchester City....

Spot the difference.

Please read the Sun(c***ts) Liverpool fans.

We've wrote a little nice and positive piece about Liverpool's and Jorgen's spending plans this Summer.

I see that Liverpool's signing of Fabinho is being widely reported as a £39M deal with £4M of addons.

I wonder why its not reported as £43M? as it would be in our case?
50 million euros if it was us to make it sound even more.

In contrast this morning Talk Shite reporting on Mahrez potential signing with negative connotations ie would he be happy on the bench and he would block youth players etc.

BBC sport have run a piece about the european top clubs - it confirms Real have been overtaken by Barca for top spot despite winning the CL, and that we are 3rd.

However...they then show the table with Barca above Real (correct) but has us still down in 5th place !!!! Everyone else in the article is shown in the corret placement but we just have in brackets after our club name (+3)

bitter fuckers

Isn't the +3 just movement since whenever some entity crunched some numbers last? Any piece which involves CIES or Gracenote is largely junk, IMO.
It looks as though someone's seen the +3 and thought Third, but it's not been corrected.

United and their PR Machine, sorry PR Department, via the Newspapers, have been doing this for decades.

London’s Evening Standard newspaper, edited by the former chancellor George Osborne, has agreed a £3 million deal with six leading commercial companies, including Google and Uber, promising them “money-can’t-buy” positive news and “favourable” comment coverage, openDemocracy can reveal.

The project, called London 2020, is being directed by Osborne. It effectively sweeps away the conventional ethical divide between news and advertising inside the Standard – and is set to include “favourable” news coverage of the firms involved, with readers unable to differentiate between "news" that is paid-for and other commercially-branded content.

How on earth is this legal? What a loathsome slug Gideon is...

It's based on an open an so far as I know eurocentric non agreement however the tariff of the day will apply, admission price still starts at £0.00 so any inflation due to brexit will be nominal #themamagenentcancargewhattheywant. And my £5.00 V.I.P tickets with limited access to my will be priced on demand #twoforoneoffer

Since I havnt been invited to this get together I’m reporting the Mods for breach of GDPR regulations - fekers havnt sent me my email in time to comply

United and Liverpool I reckon. Not too far of a stretch of the imagination to think that these deals could also include negative stories about competitors.

Isn't this the deal MUplc did with the BBC a couple of years ago? Someone on here reported as much.

What the fuck is this on my BBC app? Three stories on the main page.

1. Villa scores winner against us in 81 cup final.

2. Boro beat us 2-0 in the cup.

3. Cazorla puts Arsenal 1-0 up against us in the Charity Shield.

Are they having a fucking laugh?

Yep, on the BBC mobile app it’s the same. Hollow the Manchester City link and these are the top 4 items.

Someone is taking the piss.

When I was in the Army we had this quote on our wall and then I see Yes! Minister stole it. But still true today.

“Don't tell me about the press. I know exactly who reads the papers. The Daily Mirror is read by people who think they run the country; The Guardianis read by people who think they ought to run the country; The Times is read by the people who actually do run the country; the Daily Mail is read by the wives of the people who run the country; the Financial Times is read by people who own the country; the Morning Star is read by people who think the country ought to be run by another country, and the Daily Telegraph is read by people who think it is.

Sir Humphrey: Prime Minister, what about the people who read The Sun?

Bernard: Sun readers don't care who runs the country, as long as she's got big tits.”

I can understand the relevance, but, do you think they stole it directly from your toilet. ?

No, no, no agenda whatsoever according to some, fair and balanced reporting as ever, Man City's record breaking feats this season should be disregarded, hence ignored entirely, smoke screened and become obsolete.
