I wish the government would close these tax loopholes so everyone pays the tax on the money they earn. I have no problem these guys earning huge salaries - supply and demand etc, but really gets my goat when they then decide to avoid taxes too. How much money is enough? Don't want to pay taxes? bugger off, or don't earn the money. Jimmy Carr got called out by David Cameron on his tax avoidance. Hope saint Rashford of the poor gets called out for his tax avoidance too!

Wonder if Silly Sally would ever ask him if he sees the irony and hypocrisy in asking the government to fund free meals whilst avoiding taxes?
MP's in power are not clever enough to actually put the tax laws together. These are done by big firms like KPMG. These firms then sell there services to individuals and companies on the best way to avoid paying tax legally. the ones that write the tax laws know the best ways to circumnavigate them laws for the benefit of there rich clients.

If you shut your eye and listen, Ferdinand doesn`t seem such a ****.
In both the interviews he did with pep & the dias one and now this foden one he's been alright, although it must've been through gritted teeth as he can't hide his hatred for us in his punditry. I'll go with him being a two faced prick as opposed to actually being a fair pundit

I've no idea what the basis is for your absurdly elevated hatred of this quite-good footballer and generous young man (I hope it's just because he plays for United), but it's really gone too far when you seem to be literally angry with him for advocating that children in one of the richest countries in the world shouldn't be going to bed hungry.

I have to wonder about the reasons for anyone slagging off Rashford but praising Mata, who has made himself the poster boy for a charity someone else came up with in common goal.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, Mata's public profile and promotion in the media has undoubtedly helped raise a lot of money for good causes and helped rope in a lot of his current and former team mates, but it's certainly not been discreet.

Discreet would be the hundreds of footballers who don't sign up with public announcements and interviews to common goal and give 1% away, but instead go about their charitable business without any of use hearing about it.

No footballer raising large amounts of money for good causes should be slagged off or criticised.

I do think there is a broader discussion, where footballers use a major public relations company to plan and promote themselves, while using social injustice as the platform to do that.

Why? These are kids who are thrown into the limelight and put in a position against their own will. Stelring didn't ask to be racially abused or subject to a Sun hate campaign, Rashford just tried to raise some money for school meals and lend his voice to a massively popular charity campaign and it was the government made him into a hero by bizarrely rejecting it and then caving in to a simple demand.

They don't have much of an education. They have limited life experience being 21-23 and the entire world is watching what they do waiting to jump on their back and criticise them. If I was in their shoes I would 100% hire a PR firm to help me get across the points I want to without causing unintended shitstorms along the way which would be used to distract and belittle my message by those who oppose it.

If I were in charge of the club I'd have an in house PR department dedicated to asking the players what causes (if any) they want to champion with the platform they have earned and help them do it. The last thing you want is people stumbling into it as an amateur.

which is all fine by me, wouldn't disagree with any of it. Particularly the club being involved

where i could see an issue is when the the tail starts wagging the dog, happens with Agents, and can occur with these PR people.

As you correctly said some of these footballers are poorly educated and not the brightest. I do not think you can compare yourself to a below average intelligence footballer,

We will see how this rolling snowball grows.

good interview that.

Definitely. As much as I dislike Ferdinand, he asks really good questions in these situations. A lot of the journalists ask the same repetitive questions which lead to one word answers. They'd learn a thing or two about how to conduct proper interviews by watching this and the one with Pep.

The first mistake I made was switching talksport on in the first place.

The second was thinking that on the eve of an all English CL final that they would be featuring it.

No. Since 5pm there’s been two idiots talking about their favourite 90s TV shows!?! For 45 minutes!!!

And idiot 2 had Sweet Valley High listed?!

You couldn’t make this shit up.

If this was a Rags v Dippers final I can’t imagine it being the same.

The producer wants firing. The advertisers should pull the plug.

Cockney rag presenting.

Of course he's going to ignore it.
