Yeah it was terrible, It stank of corruption. We've been done a kipper on quite a consistent basis in the UCL. For example, how Lyons second goal was not disallowed, I still don't know to this day. However, we're not alone in being done, it happens to teams almost every year. The Liverpool ghost goal in the semi final was one for me, around 2003, the tie was won 1 nil from a goal that never was and Liverpool went on the win the CL that year. The Chelsea Barca semi final in 2009 was also pretty bad, with Chelsea denied about 4 blatant penalties. But like we've been, Chelsea were very wasteful in that game and should've won. It was almost like the refs were told to not give anything to Chelsea that might help them but if they win on merit so be it. I think we're being dealt the same card now, but more harshly, I think UEFA will make it harder for us to win the competition than anyone else.
I don't think I've seen a team win the Champions League without help from the referee for about 10 years now. I don't just mean a mistake or two in a single game but numerous favourable decisions over a number of games.

I saw that but took it the other way. Thought that they were prepared to stand up for their own beliefs rather than pandering to the masses which would be upset. They know the Red Shirt Mafia have a more vociferous online presence but they were posting it as is anyway.

Of course, that is exactly how it was supposed to come across. They knew it would bother some, including their own readers, and was a contentious subject but gave City the plaudits anyway.

Alf, there has been coverage on this thread which l had not seen before anywhere particularly as the bus turned right and l don't think l had seen the one from the inside the front of the bus although l might have seen one filmed further back.
So please do not say you 'cannot believe' that other Blues and l had not seen all the images before as if we are making it up.
The fact is that this attack was pretty horrific and sustained and it was fortunate the coach was built to resist missile attacks and no one inside was injured. Furthermore it is a fact that the incident was under reported and there was little media criticism of either the perpetrators or the ineffective police action.
So if fellow Blues on here are unaware of the full picture if what went on, neutrals and the general public must know even less and so the fairy tale perception of Liverpool and their lovable fans continues.
City should have refused to play the game citing player reactions to getting bricked by a fan base with A provable history of taking life.
They would have got destroyed in the media of course but it would have highlighted the issue and given the murdering rat eaters something to answer for.

The psychological effects of that bus assault was evident when the players took the field, and it 100% affected our performance.

One bitter ****.

Downplaying an achievement that isn't remotely close to happening yet.
I wonder if his observations are shared when Usain Bolt broke world records etc over the 100m sprint as sports science has now advanced and he was wearing better footwear?

You're right, it's every year and It's happened for years. I could name so many occasions.

One that still plays on my mind was the CSKA game away where all fans were banned because of CSKA racism. Then they ended up having about 2000 CSKA fans there though. At 2 nil Dzeko had an open net and was pushed in the back as he was about to score, he hit the post, but the ref didn't give a pen. He then gave the most pathetic pen to them against Otemendi, and we ended up drawing 2-2.

The incredible Barca comeback against PSG, and the absolute pathetic penalty Barca got in the game, which if it hadn't had been given, they wouldn't have come back.

I would love someone to make a montage of these and show how a team progresses through this. Could probably make a documentary about it.
