Anyone whose heard Marcus speak knows that he doesn't write his own Tweets. His PR team are on it.
Same for that original letter to Boris on the headed note paper that nobody seems able to name. It was almost all in social worker-speak. The volunteer who signed him up deserves a lot of praise. All volunteers do.

Ok we disagree. I have not read the mail article. I read the tweet from MR and it seemed to be like that of a politician or any rich man who had been 'caught out'.
If you wish to discuss this you can always pm me for a civilised exchange of views.

I am not sure where you think I have been uncivilised, but I do I do think you fell for the spin, which I initially posted, which your half admitting you did based on the how the tweet was framed.

If you want clarification, yes feel free to PM me.

I thought this had gone to bed like me. I did not say you were uncivilised but there was a danger the thread getting a bit histrionic largely caused by you with your incomplete sentence. I haven't read the mail article so l didnt think you meant me. Others seemed to be getting confused too judging by quotes and 'likes'. Read them back objectively and you will see what l mean.
I never half admit anything. My reasons for not reading the mail are not the virtue signalling one sees on here but because l do not want to be exposed to even more crap with the cookies system which has proliferated.
It was the Liverpool Echo which took me to a Mirror article which had MRs 'maid protesting too much' tweet in which he mentioned the mail.
I disliked the hypocrisy of a rich young man going on about how tax payers money at the same time as he is investing serious amounts on his own future. Like all these people he should have mentioned it before it was found out or he ends up looking like Cummings and his eye tests.
I am quite happy to clarify my views tomorrow in pm if you like. I expect that you have been asleep since 9pm like everyone else in Bouncing Bournemouth. ;)

what should a rich man invest in for his future which is ok by you?

surely you don’t expect him to keep it current account.

I am not rich but l do have standing orders to charities and when shopping specifically buy the sort of items food banks want. Not a fortune but its my own donation and perhaps more than my favourite hypocrite does from his own pocket.

I think Rashford is OK for a red.
It’s not his personal responsibility to feed every child or to spend all of his money doing so.
The fact he used his personal profile to shame far right monsters into belatedly doing the right thing is surely a cause for celebration, whatever badge he wears on a weekend.
But gammons gonna gammon, whatever

I must admit I am at a loss to see why you would think my ‘incomplete sentence’ is at risk of causing histrionics, but its a side issue anyway so not worth worrying about.

I dont think we will agree on this one, or even on the nightlife in Bournemouth :-), but that is fine as it goes with the territory of posting on a forum, some handle it better than others.

Personally, as a tax payer, I think Marcus Rashford has every reason to comment on Government spending even if at the same time he is investing in his families future. Its not unique to him and even our very own Vincent Kompany has been investing in property while highlighting issues in relation to homelessness. To suggest the two cannot be done simultaneously only removes powerful voices, which rightly or wrongly are more likely to impact change. I would much prefer sportsmen to speak up on issues which benefit society.
