Not sure if already posted but the Express reckons we and Manure will be fighting it out for sixth place in the table with the mighty Aston Villa in second behind the Dippers. Maybe we shouldn't be hoping for an away win at the Swamp this evening.

Hilarious!

We will only lose 2 more games - so that's a positive - but the draws will kill us.

The best bit is goals for and against. We will finish with 40 goals scored and 17 conceded. That's in total for the season. This means in our remaining 24 games we are going to score just 21 goals and let in just 5.

What a complete crock of shit but the meltdown on here would be epic!

Shall we put this to bed? Bernardo was banned 52 days after his Tweet and Cavani 29 days. The FA have at least been consistent in the time taken and upholding their rules whilst they allowed Cavani time to respond.

The real story here is Sky Sports who had 18 Bernardo stories, most pushing for a ban, including comments from university race experts and the like. For Cavani they had three stories, universally apologetic and insisting that the word, which is deemed that awful it's been pixilated out of most reports, was lost in translation.
And every time they drag the Bernardo story up they are still so outraged that they have to print the offending picture to accompany it.

In today's DM -
Michael Owen questions Sadio Mane for NOT diving to win Liverpool a penalty against Newcastle

Hack =
1. A person who works solely for mercenary purposes.
2. A writer who works on order, also a writer who aims solely for commercial success.
Bit like the southern based scribbler I heard declaring the whole country is craving a rags/dipper title race. Whether he meant the Irish Republic or the whole of Scousedanavia i'm not sure.

Mostly that's exactly right. But it seems in this particular case that City are briefing sources that it's not true. If that's the case then they should put out a public statement to that effect, saying that they will be taking action against the originator and any outlet repeating it. And then take that action.

Because it's one thing just denying it but that will lay them open to more shit like this, when someone publishes something and Vicky Kloss and her team spend all day and night on the phones sorting it out. If you take firm action then people know they're liable to pay a heavy price for being lying dickheads in future, instead of it just being a laugh they get away with.

Well maybe the media team had bigger fish to fry. I hope it's not us but certainly one NW or Midlands PL club had their work cut out last night with the Mirror article "Married Premier league star breaks Covid19 rules for drug-fuelled gay sex orgy" in Cheshire.

The article was run in the Mirror and the Irish Mirror and pulled in both.

Story supposedly generated from a no mark in Spain
City need to go after him and totally shut him down and make an example

The other week, the club on Walker 's behalf took some action (can't remember what is was for now, but it was something minuscule)
This story is far more damaging

Just watched the video he has put up , if this is a fake story he wants his arse sued . Ps not putting it on here .

Great post. Being proactive with your communications is almost always the right approach (the exceptions being sensitive legal battles where caution is often the best course till you know the outcome) It is a very complex business and an area of weakness for City in my view. We are very good at the soft community material though. These days there is no real separation between established media and social media. The only thing that matters is audience.
The only thing that matters is the audience and like it or not Social Media has a bigger audience and reach these days than traditional media.

Liverpool got a veteran journalist sacked and there was no furore. It would make some other no-marks stop and think. One click bait site has published it and they should be the first port of call for our lawyers.
The problem is that Liverpool have a massive amount of 'influencers' on Social Media - as I said earlier they accentuate the positives... but they also accentuate the negatives of others... therefore Liverpool getting a journey sacked, or them hacking our databases go relatively under the radar, swept under the carpet - I mean, look how much attention Salah got for going to a wedding... the story disappeared after a day or so... whereas the same people who will gladly bury the Liverpool negatives will highlight and maintain negative stories about us for example.
