When he had the shop in MP, in 1978, I remember my old man buying a Granada (for himself) a Cortina (for his brother) a Capri ((for my older brother) and an Escort (for my gran and grandad) all at the same time from Manchester Garages on Wilmslow Road. Almost certainly all for readies, of course - can you imagine that today ffs?! My gran and grandad still had the Escort 14 years later! Sky blue it was, despite them both being rags.Haha, yes I am.
