Perhaps you could invite Sir Marcus to your school so that he can teach you how to plan, budget and distribute the meals in a cost effective way.
Just don't ask him to do it quietly without fuss and a bbc camera crew in tow.
That's an excellent idea Blue Mist, I'll mention it to our Head.

I'll even offer to draft the email to the Biased Bullshitting Corporation which will start with;
Dear Busy ****,

In return maybe I can ask our PE teachers to tell him how to do his job too?
He could do with some coaching on how to stay onside.

I work in a school and the government guidance, as always around free school meal (fsm) provision is as vague as always.
My school has decided to provide supermarket vouchers to the value of the cost of school meals that the kids aren't getting which is what we did last time.

Most of our kitchen staff have been furloughed and there are logistical problems around families collecting food parcels and social distancing if we had gone down that route as we have over 300 kids on Fsm and I know some schools that have more than this.

Most families prefer this system however I've had feedback that a minority are not buying food with the vouchers.
Perhaps Silly Sally and St Marcus can come to the school I work in and police this?

Logistically it took a lot of hard work to set up last time and this will take us a few days to get up and running again as a year group has left and another started with us since last time and other families are now eligible who previously were not.

Whatever an individual school decides to do is wrong in the eyes of someone like Trashford and him sticking his big nose back into this debate isn't helpful to anyone working in schools.
Thank you for your informative reply. I have learned more about the realities from your post than the BBC on all its celebrity type coverage.

How do you manage with the ancillary staff off. Do the teachers cop the lot.

Well done, sincerely.

You are now on a challenge, all of BM would love to see you and the PE teachers do a tiktok/youtube vid doing just that. Come on you know you want to :-)

The teachers get a few enquiries but it's mainly support staff that organise the distribution of vouchers by collecting email addresses of parents and sending electronically and using the old fashioned post for families without email or prefer paper vouchers.
We've got over 300 kids eligible for fsm and we had to build a process from scratch.
I work in finance but it's a mixture of pastoral and finance staff that organised this so that the teachers can concentrate on teaching the key worker kids and trying to engage online with the kids that can't come in.
People like Trashford and Silly Sally haven't got a clue and personally I'm sick of all this from a publically funded broadcaster.

I’m sure Sam Lee is a decent enough bloke, but I can’t take him seriously. A Utd fan from the midlands that’s been on the City beat for 5 minutes.

The fact is The Athletic have multiple writers for the big teams. City have 1 - the same number of reporters they have covering Sheffield Wednesday and Hull City.

The big teams get 3+ reporters that have a history supporting and writing about the club, often for fanzines. We get a brummie Utd fan that has been covering the club for 3 or 4 years.

How can anybody think that’s normal ?

The Athletic have chosen to treat City differently to all the other elite clubs. That’s not his fault. But it’s a fact.

I've supported City for nearly 30 years now and I don't recall too many if ANY actual City supporters from Manchester covering the club. What we've had are proper rags like Ogden, Jackson, Custis, who are basically cheerleaders for United writing about City in the most negative ways possible.

I'm not privy to the Athletic's policy on writers per club, but I know that they have been interviewing for another City reporter to join their team. It won't be a City supporter because sadly, there are very few of us in the mainstream media.

EDIT:

Also, for the record. The Blues who have been given a platform by the mainstream media, are in the main, horrible twats. Conn and his ilk are as bad as Delaney.

2 negative stories about football in the mail on line today all about covid nothing to do directly with city,
main picture is of a city player, nearly always the same when a negative story is out there,
or am i being a bit precious
No. It is deliberate. Not a single BBC mention of City or our owners in all the stuff about the vaccinations at the Etihad yet the negatives are always given a subtle hint that it might be City.

Like a jig saw all these bits and pieces make a big picture.
