Yeah Sure,
Basically the government guidelines were very vague and basically said do what you deem to be the best for you i.e; food parcels or vouchers.

My school made the call to stick with vouchers as it worked well last time, was well received and made more sense.

Some schools (from what I can see from the ages of the kids of the parents who received these pitiful packages were Primary Schools) who have much smaller numbers of kids chose to use private providers to send out food parcels.
As many were so piss poor and not fit for purpose this has quite rightly caused a huge outcry.

The providers could have been private companies offering this service or even their own provider as some schools have privately run provision however as we've never gone down that particular route I'm not as well versed in this process.

Our own Kitchen Manager recommended vouchers and said that families would get far more if you gave them vouchers than anything he would be able to put together (our school meal provider is a privately contracted company)

The main point is though that it was so obvious what was going to happen once the guidelines came out.

A national scheme (Edenred) was in place last time that schools could order vouchers through rather than ordering direct (Edenred gives recipients a choice of supermarkets whereas ordering direct you can only choose a named supermarket).
Last time round there were problems with schools getting onto their sites to register however most schools I have contact with including ours eventually got onto this and they could quite easily have picked this up again and saved all this furore.

It's yet another example in a long list of government cock-ups and U-turns with schools and they keep making the same mistakes over and over again.
Cheers mate. No wonder they can't be precise about where the problems occur. Real left hand right hand stuff. It seems that a pic of the contents of a pack that was supposed to be for a family of three circulated by a famous person was in fact for one. I was puzzled about two potatoes get shared by three. Vouchers seem to be an obvious choice for me but what do l know.
In a separate matter lve just had a laugh at BBC1 NW news where are doing their utmost trying not to mention City or even Manchester in their feature on jabs at the Etihad. I'm sure that a lot of older people don't know where or what the Etihad is.

Well at the last count Liverpool FC and their fans claim to have invented songs, banners, going to the match with your mates, socialism, watching your team abroad, wearing trainers, players shouting encouragement to their team mates, players looking around before receiving the ball and now apparently they have invented the very concept of a manager chatting with his players.
Deluded brainwashed cultist loons

Don't forget they also invented slashing opposing fans with a Stanley knife..
Or don't they count that as an achievement

Below is on the BBC sport now regarding the ban of Kieran Trippier. and here's me thinking he was most recently a Spurs player. They just can't resist can they? :

Atletico Madrid right-back Kieran Trippier will continue to serve a 10-week ban in England after the Football Association failed to push back his suspension for betting breaches.

Tripper is still allowed to play for La Liga leaders Atletico in Spain because they have challenged the validity of the ban with world governing body Fifa.
Atletico contest the FA's right to ban a player not active in its league.

Trippier's ban in England started on 21 December and runs to 28 February.

The 30-year-old England international was suspended and fined £70,000 by the FA after being found to have broken betting rules.

Trippier told a friend to "lump on" over his 2019 move from Tottenham Hotspur to Atletico Madrid, according to English football's governing body.

Following a request from the FA, Fifa extended the ban worldwide.

Atletico appealed against the Fifa suspension and it was provisionally lifted pending a decision.

The former Manchester City and Burnley defender played the full 90 minutes as Atletico beat Sevilla on Tuesday, extending their advantage over neighbours Real Madrid at the top of the Spanish top-flight table to four points.

No worries mate,
We got notification today from the DfE that we can reset our Edenred log in however it's too late for us to use it for the first two weeks as we've had to source vouchers from the big, local supermarket.
Only a minor inconvenience as it reduces choice for our families (you can pick from a choice of supermarkets using Edenred and you are limited to buying products that will only be sold to anyone under 16) but it's another obvious thing that could have been sorted earlier.

Seriously though ,why do you put yourself through the torture of watching BBC News?
It's common knowledge that Media City is full of Rags who are incapable of following their own charters.
The cretins at Media City probably dared each other for a bet to see if they could put together the piece about The Etihad without mentioning us and were high fiving each other during the broadcast

Compare and contrast our publically funded broadcaster with an independent report I heard last night on TV which started;
"The footballer Marcus Rashford was amongst several people who has criticised some of the food parcels distributed to families as a replacement for FSM"
Followed by a factually accurate piece about some of the poor meal packages distributed.
A great piece that covered the salient points and was factually correct.

Contrast with the BBC version which based on previous reporting I have seen would have been something like:
"Manchester United footballer Marcus Rashford has criticised the quality of some of the food parcels provided as a substitute for FSM.
The Manchester United footballer who can be seen here scoring for Manchester United against PSG took to Twitter and said..."

Who actually regulates the BBC?
They're going downhill faster than Franz Clammer and the standard of reporting and quality of their output is getting worse.

From Roan keeping his job after sneering at the recently deceased Leicester City owner at the side of the smouldering wreckage of his helicopter to Stone promoting Tag Heuer watches whilst being paid by the licence payer to report on a club tour and the arrogant, pathetic wriggling during the Pete the Badge incident when several posters on here called them out for basically bullying a vulnerable person.

If they were a commercial organisation they can report how they like but it boils my piss at having to pay a license fee to pay for this shite even if I never watch anything on the BBC.

You forgot to mention killing opposition supporters, never apologising and blaming everyone and everything else.
