Didn’t think Darke was that bad last night personally.
recently a few commentators have been finding complimentary observations during our matches. The Newcastle game was a case in point. However, the cynic in me believes that this is a result of broadcasting management instructing commentary to be more balanced. The likes of Darke are now finding more subtle ways of keeping up the negativity.

You are, of course, correct about the Twitter storm but there is a bigger picture here. Ian Darke is not the only commentator who is incapable of covering City in an impartial way. The constant sniping (and that's what it is) has gone on for years. There are so many people in key positions who simply can't hide their dislike of our club. I think City fans are entitled to defend the club and I think our lobbying is slowly improving things and has helped people like Nedum, Micah, and Trevor Sinclair get more airtime. All I want to see is fair, balanced, and honest critical coverage of City.
Correct. We are not asking for special treatment. We are just asking for fair treatment.

If he wants to dish out shit then he should also be prepared to take it back. Too many of these media saps think they can say what they like, then get offended when people give it back. People like Herbert, the drunken sex-pest Glendenning and others like them. They're just plain nasty so we're quite entitled to be nasty back. Then they have the nerve to say City fans are a sensitive bunch.

City fans are right to attack these old hacks who have stolen a living peddling their duplicious wares. The media has spent too long pandering to the old big Sky 4 who have promoted their own interests above football. Payback time.

Who do you think in the media give honest, critical coverage of City?

Phil Foden has got the third highest appearances for City this season. He is just part of the usual squad rotation at City. I believe he plays more than most other players of his age in Europe. He has also won nine trophies (including the U17 World Cup) This story is just the latest fake narrative put out by our enemies in the media to try and damage us. I wish the club would call it out.
I get what you are saying.

The problem is, he hasn't featured much in the league, which is our bread and butter competition.

We've been bang average this season, most games have needed his drive and determination, but he's ended up playing the same amount of minutes as bloody Mendy.

Tbh I quite like how pep is managing him, in fact I would say he has a stellar career ahead of him. What is wrong with that? He's on track. Moreso than the kids who left us to go play in Germany...

Media narrative will never change with our institutionalised racist media. They try to be subtle but most reasonably clued up city fans can see it. If only a few more clubs could be Arab owned there may well have been a distraction.

Absolutely.

The coming of Nedum, Micah, and Trevor Sinclair has shown how moribund and outdated punditry has become from the same old few clubs? The old guard is increasingly irrelevant to modern fans. The narrative has to better reflect the football of today, not just City.

Liverpools glory days were in the 1980's. Ferguson and Wenger went years ago. Chelsea have faded and the Spurs glory year as champions was in 1961.

The media has had ample opportunity to grasp the concepts of football finance/ffp and inform the public of what the rules are but choose not to.
By ignoring what actually happens they are able to continue with their anti City narrative. It's so obvious, I always have a chuckle when a certain poster nips on to tell us how wrong we are.

Souness is good, Osman when we’ve had him & a few others.

I despise mcpointy & fletcher, fletcher is smart & knows what he’s doing to advance his career, it’s arse licking. As has been mentioned the commentary isn’t for us.

10 years ago Neville was a breath of fresh air then changed, ask yourself why because we deserved less criticism.

Now living in Oz it was hilarious how many City kits I was seeing kids wear but the last few years it’s changed again, do not under estimate the constant negativity & the impact it’s having.

I say give the champagne socialist all the shit that you can, more than happy to dish out insult, lies & attacks that don’t fit to their pathetic little agenda, happy to kill people’s careers and livelihoods but can’t handle being called a ****.

I’d cry for them but I’m too busy with a real job than being a propaganda pusher.

To be honest if there has been a downturn in support I would question whether subliminal messages in the media would cause it, as kids, at that age, just see the football and trophies being lifted.

Not a massive fan of Mcpointy myself, think his work is pretty basic with very few insights into the game and more say what you see type commentary.

How is Richard Scudamore getting along over there as special advisor to the A league? Doing a good job, hopefully?
