Bryan Riggs the Wales coach has been charged with ABH. Didn't he used to play for a team round here? Only they failed to mention who it was on the Talksport news round-up
Same team wins the league every year in Germany. So does it really work?Aye but I think that was a reason they didn't go for the ESL. Barcelona were subject to a fan vote on the issue too. But tbh I don't know if they would have a way of circumventing the fan vote.
Nonetheless the German model seems to work and we seem to be copying that. I don't think any meaningful changes will be made in the end anyway.
Could have been the relationship with Qatar too but I agree for something as big as that I doubt it would be legal to keep it quiet and go through with it without consulting the other 51%. The Barca case is puzzling, perhaps they just showed those fans how much financial trouble they were in without it.Aye but I think that was a reason they didn't go for the ESL. It's hard enough getting a round out of some of the guys I go to the match with. Especially at stadium pricesTry £3.7bn on the money that Silver Lake paid.
Still a tough whip round, eh?
I don't think he was talking about the competitiveness of the league, it's more about stopping decisions like the ESL being made behind the scenes(against the will of the fans) in the future. You're right though, with a 50+1 rule the competitiveness will probably go down if anything, looking at the Bundesliga, unless spending caps are put in place too. Which wont happen, so we should have neither. Just put some legislation in place I say.Same team wins the league every year in Germany. So does it really work?
We can’t even agree on muffin vs barmLeaving any decision to supports is mental. We cant even agree on who should play in the first 11.
Football fans are customers nothing more nothing less. The business owners use our loyalty against us.
It is a cutthroat nasty business in many ways.
Watch more SSN this last week than in the last 3 years, glad to report it's back on my ignore list.Sky Sports News really is turning into a parody. Almost to The Day Today levels. Their latest headline
"CIVIL WAR IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE"
Why would the owner of a limited company ever give 51% control to his customers? Especially after investing over £1.3 billion of his own money? Never gonna happen & im glad it won’t
50+1 doesn’t mean a lot in reality tbf
Perhaps give the half time balti pie a swerve? How would fans be able to afford buying 51% of a billion pound company ? I struggle with the price of a ticket and travel
Sky are loving all this. From the ESL announcement to the latest bollocks. Gives them something to discuss instead of the usual inane drivel. Bit like deadline day.Sky Sports News really is turning into a parody. Almost to The Day Today levels. Their latest headline

The Bundesliga is heavily subsidised the last time I read about it. No way will that happen here, so owners may have to put up more money than German counter parts. What's so great about Eurooean leagues?I see what people are saying though.
Look at the state of the Bundesliga. How much as it helped the league stay competitive? 9 in a row.
Look at Bayern and Qatar, despite none of the fans wanting anything to do with Qatar. Where did that vote go?
Ray Parlour is such a dick.....
Ok so Schalke are like Sunderland but what are the positives of the 50+1 rule? Bayern have won eight titles in a row and no one can compete with them. There must be something fundamentally wrong with German football. Leipzig come along and everyone hates them because they invest and try to compete at the highest level. But no one can compete with Bayern if they are not allowed to invest significantly (at least for a short period of time) It is a one-team cartel.Schalke despite having a lot more income than other 14 to 15 clubs in Germany have been relegated. That does not have anything to do with 50+1 but with bad management...
You cannot pin that on the 50+1 model. And getting rid of the 50+1 model does not solve the "German problems" either.
Thank you.Only one really. Dortmund was actually bailed out by Bayern at one stage. Dortmund is just a feeder club. German football has been destroyed by Bayern's stranglehold on investors. Schalke with 60,000 crowds have just been relegated. The 50 plus one model would destroy English football by making it impossible to invest. They have a different fan ownership model in Spain which has ensured domination by Barca and Real for decades and creamed off most of the money.
