And likewise some bury there heads in the sand, and choose not to contemplate the fact that our owner is embracing a mass murderer who used chemical weapons on his own peopleHow noble that some City fans have such admirable principles and such clean hands that they can berate our owner for the people he talks to. Of course, it can be of no importance that he is deputy PM of the UAE and that regional powers in the area include Iran and Syria and that the region has been unstable for the last 15 years at least and that Russia has played an increasingly prominent role there in recent years. Maybe the meeting was trying to bring greater stability to a troubled region. Such an objective can actually be achieved ONLY by meetings and negotiation. Perhaps the UAE expressed the view that they do not wish to see Syrian forces serving in the Ukraine. I understand that President Zelensky has been negotiating with Putin in an attempt to end the carnage. Surely we don't believe he's at fault for this! The fact is that if we wish to solve international problems we usually have to talk to people we don't like at all. Peace only came to Northern Ireland after intensive negotiations between our government and Irish republicans. They didn't like each other and they had to agree to some very controversial terms, but the carnage stopped. So, as one of the characters in Sartre's "Les Mains Sales" says, if you want to do good you have to put your arms in the shit up to your elbows."
And which lovely, clean Western nations could of possibly created said mess in the regionThere will be no stability and peace in Syria. Assad, Russia, America, Iran, Turkey, Israel, ISIS, and other hardline Muslim groups.
It’s a f*cking mess that will never be sorted out by anyone.
A great read.
Syria’s War and the Descent Into Horror
The civil uprising against the longtime rule of the Assads deteriorated into protracted civil war. Here’s a look at the elements that have deepened Syria’s tragedy.www.cfr.org
Morals are quite fundamental believe it or not. We may have been responsible for misery, but from the perspective of trying to help the population from evil dictators. Not comparable in any way with Putin or Assad believe it or not. I have supported City since 76, and will always support City, but the abuse that is going to come our way may not be easy to ignoreThe simpletons in the media love the morality angle. But it doesn't hold up. Our royal family and politicians meet plenty of unsavoury people in the course of their duties and we've been responsible for unimaginable misery in places like Iraq & Libya.

Wow, just wow.
A little bit of research would show that they were looking to negotiate peace in Syria and to remove Russian troops from Syrian soil.
The point being, the main enemy, a very dangerous enemy is Iran. They are backed by Russia.
Just like our government talked to the IRA to get peace, the UAE are talking to Assad.
Chris Bryant is a two faced shit who has been caught out lying over Lebdev. Why didnt Bryant call out the Godolphin racing stables?

Well I will admit I’m not as well researched as you. However, it seems to me that if you are anti Iran then you are pro Saudi. Now, I’m probably adding 2 and and making 15 but do you REALLY know what the UAE Middle East and wider strategy is? If so, fair play. The Saudi vs Iran battle as well as other geo politics are incredibly complex.Wow, just wow.

Ok. Are you also claiming the UAE and chums are saving lives in Yemen?Jesus wept
The UN have put together a meeting in two days time to try to sort out some humanitarian issues in Syria as the civil war has been going on for a decade and millions are at risk of dying due to infrastructure being destroyed. The UAE are part of that process on behalf of the Arab nations. They're not there to back Assad, they're there to try to keep people alive.
Argue against it all you want but the UN wants to keep people alive and the UAE are part of that
Re. the help people from evil dictators bit. We were best mates with Sadam when he was fighting Iran, we armed the mujahadeen when they were fighting the Russians. Its strange how when they our friend's not a bad word is said but woe betide them if we fall out with them.Morals are quite fundamental believe it or not. Please tell me what you believe is happening in Yemen. Is it based on what the media are stating because if it is your wrong.Ok. Are you also claiming the UAE and chums are saving lives in Yemen?
