I've tried to avoid most of the media coverage since the Real game. The days of proper sports journalism are over. The vast majority of current reporters working for these institutions are no better than some random fan with a YouTube channel. I know people in the industry and they regularly bemoan the lack of journalistic integrity or standards.

No wonder Pep loses it sometimes. He's one of the greatest ever managers, whose very presence in England has revolutionised the way the game is played at all levels, yet he's got to show up at press conferences and listen to nonsense spouted by morons with no grasp of the game, pushing their or their paymasters agenda in order to boost their own profile, get clicks and placate their readership.

Fuck them all.

What I struggle with here is the obvious reference to Man Utd in all this. American owners and Red teams are mentioned every second post on this site. I mean it could be the case that they have been absolutely inept at virtually everything for 10 years because they have solely been focusing on bad mouthing Man City across various media platforms. They are a car crash of a club, what makes you think they have the capability to orchestrate such a campaign and in what way have they benefited from it?
They nearly got a european super league to line their pockets. Joel fecking Glazer was extoling the virtues of it on our own website! With the champions league reforms they've influenced that to smooth their passage to regular qualification. They very nearly got us banned from Europe (surely the instigators of the hateful 8). They still have an unnatural control over the domestic game.

Some ideas for starters

I think this is often true but is actually a get out of jail free card. I had the misfortune to click on the Grauniad and their 10 things to look out for this weekend. By definition, you’ve already clicked on it and there is nothing else to ‘click on to’. And yet, with the stink of Glendenning everywhere, you get this thoroughly cliched bollox.

City need to be built up for el gasico

Even before their midweek Champions League defeat at the Bernabéu, Manchester City’s home match against resurgent Newcastle looked one of the more likely banana skins on their top-flight run-in. Until, that is, you examined Eddie Howe’s record against Pep Guardiola – a miserable 11 defeats from 11 with an aggregate score of 34-5. All but one of those losses occurred before Wor Eddie joined Pep in the managerial ranks of the nation state-owned sportswashing vehicles, only to lose his first el gasico derby in December.
Don't remember any banana skin talk when Liverpool were playing them away last week but our game at home is ...

Fucking hell they are getting worse the nearer their beloved Liverpool get to this quadruple. Lets hope they end up with the League Cup.
Even if they finish the season with just the league cup the media will still be gushing over them.

All we'll hear from the media is how well they played and how close they ran us, Chelsea and Real Madrid.
