Is Jordan unaware of the history of English football or does he just do this for effect? The list of rich men who lifted up a team is long, beginning with the foundation of Liverpool.

The ref should only stop play for a head injury. The injured player should have to leave the pitch and not return for 5 minutes. Any other injuries should be treated when the ball next goes out of play and that player should also leave the field and stay off for 5 minutes. If the injury was the result of a foul the offending player should also leave the field for 5 minutes.

Refs are falling over 'emselves to stop play when they think it's a head injury, and players will fall down holding their faces or heads rather than rubbing a thigh or a shin! Whatever law change appears the training grounds of professional football clubs will have someone scrutinising to see what advantage might accrue from the slightest bend either to see what the ref does or to run down the clock.
