I've still not learned how bad this alleged outbreak was. Big enough for Stone to count on the thumbs of one hand?
Apparently 42 people in the entire Premier league have it which suggests a lots of clubs have it or some clubs have a lot of staff who have it - yet only the rags are awarded a postponement.
The thing is the rags like a postponement. A fake bomb on the back of a bog door, or zebra trousered loons breaking into the swamp before a lockdown game. They must think it gives them some sort of advantage.

Carrington is back open again today - how conventent.

ESPN going through the champions league draw. Anyway, 2/3 pundits have went for United to beat Madrid. Craig burley “have I missed something about United? Have they turned into Man City?” lol

He went to town on the presenter for their misguided belief that the rags are still a force. It’s does confirm a subconscious bias in most media personalities towards certain teams. Facts and common sense goes out the window.

Burley isn't everyone's cup of tea, but he can be on the button. They were discussing having ex-pros in the VAR box and he said (something along the lines of) " have you seen the state of most pundits. They are nothing but glorified cheerleaders." Made me chuckle. On YouTube if you want to have a look.

To paraphrase Jim Shite's opening.

"Manchester City won seven nil at the Eitihad last night. The big question is...How shit are Leeds!"
To be fair they had one of the worst defences I have ever seen in the PL. Not sure if that was down to lack of usual personnel or not, but they made some peculiar defensive tackles, their positioning was all over the place and they lacked pace. It was like watching 4 Maguires.

Delooneys out with the “football is ruined” article as a team beat another team 7-0

it’s city miss a striker, city have been sussed out, city aren’t scoring enough, city are a bit boring….all season until City thump someone and they move the goalposts as usual

this superb 3 team title race could fall on its face very quickly for the usual suspects in the press and they’ll be talking about human rights in the Middle East again very soon

I don't disagree with him on a lot of his points, the problem is he's fixated on City being the cause instead of realising this goes back decades.

It is a bit shit that in "the most competitive league in the world" a coach like Bielsa who plays really great football is at such a financial disadvantage. He got them 9th last year with the 4th cheapest squad in the league.

His Leeds squad cost 170m euros to buy and ours cost 1,080m euros. The sport would be much more interesting if everyone spent similar amounts and Bielsa had some really great players instead of a bunch of misfits picked up from Championship and League 1 sides.

But that's not City's problem! In fact, without us and Chelsea, The Premier League would be the English Bundesliga, because Arsenal were never going to compete with Ferguson's United when they started building the Emirates, and United would have won 10 in a row if not for external investment.

The top 4 was better than the top 2. And the top 6 is better than the top 4.

And Newcastle arriving and making it a top 7, or Everton finally spending their money well, or West Ham's new billionaire owner putting cash down and making it a top 8 would be amazing.

The more competitive teams the better.

I would not be surprised if we're 10+ points clear after Liverpool and Chelsea play each other on NYD and the title race is over.

I think it was just incredible tactical coaching. All our players seemed to know they would be followed man for man so when that happens gaps appear and we played through the gaps they created. Other teams gets flustered by leeds pressing but its so constant that you just have to keep moving and space opens for others
