Thought it had been put back to June, if we are still paying him it doesn’t seem right to me. Can’t we hold it in abeyance until the trial has finished?
I don’t think we can. As unpalatable as it may seem, he is innocent until proven guilty and as such he is entitled to a presumption of innocence and I’m pretty sure (but not certain) that this would include paying his wages, albeit only at a basic level.

In the media today “He who shall not be mentioned” has had more charges put to him. I was wondering what are the legal implications of his employment, do we still have to pay his salary.

There's case law to suggest that a person who's on remand doesn't have to be paid when unable to fulfil his employment obligations because he's in custody. The legal position is that you're entitled to be paid when "unavoidably" prevented from working but are willing to work. However, if a person has conducted himself such that the criminal courts rule that he should be deprived of his freedom (and thus his right to work) pending a criminal trial, I understand that employment tribunals tend not to regard this as falling within the category of an "unavoidable impediment" to working.

Of course, it's hard to comment on a particular case without knowing the facts of it so something may be different in this one. In any event, the starting point is what the employment contract and any absence policy the employer may have to say about payment for work during an employee's absence.

Think it’s been put back to summer now.
If he is guilty lock him up and throw away the key. But… if he is innocent it is horrendous how long you can stew in prison when you haven’t committed a crime. It can not be fair to spend the best part of a year inside when you have (possibly) done nothing wrong

Most of us don't have contracts that would permit getting paid for a year whilst not doing any work because we were on remand.
What’s the score with Ryan Giggs. I assume he is ‘on remand’ but he isn’t doing his job of managing Wales?

Talkshite celebrating Christmas by putting a documentary celebrating GPC.

I wonder if they'll omit the hard shoulder shitting.
There was no hard shoulder shitting. If he really needed to go there would have been. If you have to go you go. From experience I have had to. Fortunate to be close enough to large car parks offering some seclusion to permit relative dignity
