Is this actually the case. He has been remanded in custody and is therefore unable to fulfil his contract. Tony Adams was paid his wages including bonuses while he was in prison but this was something Arsenal chose to do. A difference with the Mendy case is, of course, that Adams had been tried and found guilty and his contract was void though Arsenal honoured it.We will have to pay him his salary till the outcome of the case but he won't get any bonuses. If guilty of the seven rape charges he will face a very lengthy prison sentence (the maximum sentence for rape is life) and we will terminate his contract. The trial starts on Jan 24 and will undoubtedly dominate the front pages.
