We will have to pay him his salary till the outcome of the case but he won't get any bonuses. If guilty of the seven rape charges he will face a very lengthy prison sentence (the maximum sentence for rape is life) and we will terminate his contract. The trial starts on Jan 24 and will undoubtedly dominate the front pages.
Is this actually the case. He has been remanded in custody and is therefore unable to fulfil his contract. Tony Adams was paid his wages including bonuses while he was in prison but this was something Arsenal chose to do. A difference with the Mendy case is, of course, that Adams had been tried and found guilty and his contract was void though Arsenal honoured it.

In the media today “He who shall not be mentioned” has had more charges put to him. I was wondering what are the legal implications of his employment, do we still have to pay his salary.
I would say yes as in innocent until proven guilty.
That said if .... he was on bail, IF he did something that made him breach his bail and get banged up, perhaps you could say breach of contract when he did not turn up for training.

Not that I know who you are talking about

Female reporter on BBC local news spitting out her report on Mendys additional charge. She should not perhaps be so venomous sounding anyway as a news reader but if so she should show her strong feelings on all cases she reports on.
And even include Mendys co accused a bloke from Eccles who has hardly had a mention in these proceedings despite being on similar charges.
