I thought watching thousands stream out on 38-40 min mark for half time that we’ve got a fuck load of spoilt ungratefuls in our ranks.

This is the best City team ever and you’re missing 7 minutes of the first half to get an early pint?

Thought the atmosphere picked up again when we conceded the 3rd and the team then got a lift but fuck me, we should be bouncing giving the football we’re playing.

If you could leave on the half time whistle, get a pint and drink it (without having to throw it down) during the break I'm sure there would be less leaving early.

Maybe it's not all the supporters fault (and I say that as someone that hasn't had a pint in the ground for a long time).

Nah.
You’re an antivaxxer as you’ve made clear on the Covid threads so you’ve got your own agenda when making this point about perfectly reasonable reporting.

I’ve had both vaccines myself. Which I demonstrated, just like everyone else did, when I got into the ground yesterday.

I’m going to regret asking, but what do you mean when you say “anti-vaxxer”? Please take your time.

Re Kav not seeing anything, immediately before the corner that led to the first penalty, he warned a defender about holding so he was seeing them, just not giving them.

I wonder if the VAR people told Kavanagh the first time that the TV cameras were showing the holding, hugging and pushing and that is why he spoke to them, and why VAR made a big deal of it the next time .....

i think it was smart of KDB standing next to the liner pointing at it, it got the focus of the linesman, TV, VAR.

I was still Fcking shocked we got it.

Should have had 5 pens & when they didn’t hold we scored 2.

Media thread, but not in the usual sub-narrative of History Clubs/Organic Wealth v Nouveau-riche Lottery-winning Abu Dhabi Deplorables. This one’s in the sub-narrative of Nasty Innuendo Journalism. WARNING: the victim is nothing to do with City.

From the inestimable bbc sport - Rangnick is talking about wantaway forward Anthony Martial - is this horrid little splicing of seemingly unrelated points to suggest something it’s got no business to suggest:

View attachment 32764

Now, I’m not interested in whether or not Anthony Martial has had a COVID-vaccine, and I’m not interested in whether his reasons for choosing to to have a vaccine or not are good ones or bad ones. But the writer of this piece clearly feels the need to suggest, by inviting world-famous Public Health Scientist Doctor Klopp onto the stage, and to suggest he and Deep Thinker Rangnick think as one on the subject of COVID, that the reason Anthony Martial cannot interest another club in signing him in the January window is not because everyone in football has forgotten who he is, but because they’re keen on him as a player, but iffy about his vaccination status.

This kind of nasty gossip is beneath the standards set in the Rovers Return Snug.
Sorry I don't follow, if Klopp and Rangnick have actually said these things how is it gossip?

Sorry for bringing up ancient history but I have just come across this snippet of media bias after Summerbee’s famous rant on Sky:

“Bizarrely he claimed that the away side had dominated for 60% of the game, then when shown the actal possession statistics of 54%-46% he laughably backtracked and said, “I’m not into stats”.”

If you check that actual stats: https://www.premierleague.com/match/7346
It was 50.3% city to 49.7% utd.

Talk about blatant lies presented as facts by a biased media! I have been trying to find footage of the full rant online but I can only find bits, but if memory serves me correctly Sky interjected his speech with a full screen display of the “true” procession stats. Add to that many examples of journalists running with those fake numbers in their condemnation of the respected former city star I rest my case!

Gillette Soccer Special... So much talk of "Biggest Squads" benefiting over this period/covid etc... Its infuriating. You mean "Best squads" lads. And yes, City have the best squad.
It doesn't matter as much about the size of the squad if the clubs involved can only use 3 subs.........

It's true the service at the bars is diabolical. How on earth can a bar, that know approximately how many pints they serve each game, run out. It's not as if they have 10 different brews to choose from. They don't even have to fuck about with cash now either. I was in a queue a few games ago, and basically a bloke in the queue organised it better than the ones behind the counter. He just asked everyone how many beers they wanted and told the staff to just keep pouring the pints till there was enough. Job done. They need a full over haul. It's not fit for purpose.
