Posted the above last night just before kick-off when responding to a similar comment by 'Deano' on the partiality revealed against us in so many commentaries on European games down the years.Commentary/‘analysis’ so far reminds me of when we played Kiev a few years back.. it was all about ’The Shevchenko Show’.. and when they scored it was ‘trebles all round’.. in stark contrast to the funereal tones whenever we got near Kiev’s penalty area..
For me, the commentary by Peter Drury and Jim Beglin back in 2011 when we lost in Kiev has remained the nadir, given their obsession with what I called at the time 'The Shevchenko Show' and their distasteful ignoring of anything positive that City did that night.
I thought that, as a low point in the way the media responds to/presents us, it would never be beaten.
Boy was I wrong.. last night's 'Messi/PSG Fest' knocked the Kiev commentary 'performance' into a cocked hat.
These people are supposed to be impartial professionals. They should be bloody well ashamed of themselves..
