When asked earlier in the season, Guardiola said if a player isn't fully committed and wants to go he can leave, so long as he and his representatives bring an acceptable offer to City
Torres' people will have spoken to Barca with City's knowledge and acceptance

Things are changing. Albeit slowly and even slower through certain MSM channels.

And what of the acceptable offer?

Barca haven't got a pot to piss in, nevermind find 60-70m for Torres.

It is reported that he has agreed a 5 year deal..... we haven't agreed a fee so how does that happen. He hasn't submitted a transfer request either.
It is tapping up pure and simple just like they were doing with sterling.
You agree a fee first. Offering him 250k a week is one thing but then offering us 30 mil is another.

Torres' people have been contacted by/been in contact with Barcelona
It's been made very clear that he wants to go back to Spain
This is the leverage Barcelona are trying to use, however, City hold all the cards here. We're not a selling club and Torres is contracted for four more years
it's not a dissimilar situation to Sane

City will have told Torres he can leave as long as there is an acceptable fee and that his people have to find the deal

As we are (mostly) all aware, the footy media are not frightened of being hypocrites, far from it in fact, just take a look at most of what is written about us. Their desperation to show us in a bad light usurps any dignity they may have once had.

The over exposure they receive in relation to their on field failures is one of life's great pleasures.

It's one of two comments about Barca in the BBC Gossip column yesterday. The first was about their 'agreement' to sign Torres. Immediately next to it was another paragraph from the Barca Presidents claining that the club had no cash and needed to sell before they could buy new players.

Just how are they going to finance a €60 million deal for Torres?

They’re not. It is just posturing, keeping the club in the news, appeasing the fans, being a bunch of twats basically.

I think the offers he was talking about probably included a transfer fee, not just how much wages they could get.

They’ve been taking some advice from Angelini and they are going to offer to pay half his wages for two seasons with an option to buy him for £50,000 at the end.

That second comment wasn't there when I got that post but oddly I was just about to post it now.
As they followed on from each other and I was pretty much going to type what you did yourself.

If you have no money stop tapping up players you skint ex big club cunts.

Barcelona have held talks with Manchester City about signing Spain forward Ferran Torres, 21, in January. Torres has scored nine goals and provided three assists in 28 Premier League games for City. (ESPN)
