I don’t think we can. As unpalatable as it may seem, he is innocent until proven guilty and as such he is entitled to a presumption of innocence and I’m pretty sure (but not certain) that this would include paying his wages, albeit only at a basic level.

There's case law to suggest that a person who's on remand doesn't have to be paid when unable to fulfil his employment obligations because he's in custody. The legal position is that you're entitled to be paid when "unavoidably" prevented from working but are willing to work. However, if a person has conducted himself such that the criminal courts rule that he should be deprived of his freedom (and thus his right to work) pending a criminal trial, I understand that employment tribunals tend not to regard this as falling within the category of an "unavoidable impediment" to working.

Of course, it's hard to comment on a particular case without knowing the facts of it so something may be different in this one. In any event, the starting point is what the employment contract and any absence policy the employer may have to say about payment for work during an employee's absence.

If he is guilty lock him up and throw away the key. But… if he is innocent it is horrendous how long you can stew in prison when you haven’t committed a crime. It can not be fair to spend the best part of a year inside when you have (possibly) done nothing wrong

There was no hard shoulder shitting. If he really needed to go there would have been. If you have to go you go. From experience I have had to. Fortunate to be close enough to large car parks offering some seclusion to permit relative dignity

I’ve noticed the same but did have a little success with spaces & changing a letter “ Stan dard ch@rtered “ which clearly shows settings in advance.

It was a bullshit story cooked up by the dodgy shyster Nick Freeman and supported by a letter from a crooked doctor to try to excuse the entitled old **** driving along the hard shoulder rather than queuing in traffic like everybody else

Same,I sneaked one in yesterday but couldn’t get another one away afterwards. There must be a program attached to censor picking up on words used in the past? It’s an instant block, I can never post for days after . They must be absolutely shitting it in case it wakes people up to the yanks and changes the whole narrative away from ’dirty Arab oil money’. There is absolutely never any mention of it or acknowledgement by dippers , an absolute whitewash.
