Great read you 2. An insider insight into what Football Journalism was and still is.

City winning at CAS must have got some of the biggest amount of clicks in the history of Football Journalism.

The bile and hatred spewing from the red shirt fans that day and days after was off the scale and epic.

Oh how we laughed at them all. :-)
Not just here but in Spain, Germany, Italy etc, where certain papers are more blatantly and transparently aligned to certain clubs

That's why the Der Spiegel stories always should have been viewed with nothing but suspicion.

I know for a 100% fact the the hacked emails were offered to a few German outlets but they didn't want to run the risk of legal action.

Der Speigel had previously run a story painting certain Bayern boardroom members in a negative light. Bayern kicked off big time and threatened legal action.

A couple of people at Bayern (miraculously) knew Der Spiegel had the emails and essentially pressured Der Spiegel into running with the story, knowing they had leverage.

What's interesting about all of this is the misinformation that continued to spread, even after the CAS ruling. For example, a few outlets, including the MEN, stated we didn't persue legal action over the claims. This is sort of accurate (as it's notoriously difficult to win libel cases against German Newspapers, despite the 2017 defamation laws) but what wasn't widely shared was that the club most certainly fired shots across the bows of two individual journalists rather than Der Spiegel as an organisation.

The MOTD commentator for the Rags last night was almost shouting with delight at a mistimed late goal against relegation fodder.
Desperation all round.

Any more detail about the legal action against the journalists only the stroppy prick kept going even after the case, I remember see quite a few tweets before I cancelled Twitter.

I don't know the specifics unfortunately, mate. I was told that the main culprit, Christoph Winterbach, was told to shut the fuck up or face the consequences. He's certainly piped down recently and seems to only really retweet stuff.

Also interesting to note that he was essentially demoted a few days after I was told about City going after him.

Possibly him who spliced different emails together to give a misleading impression?

Demoted & then has the cheek to retweet….fcker should be in court or tweeting a big Fcking apology.

IF we are 12 points clear come Saturday afternoon I fully expect the media to go into overdrive with City bingo and how unfair it is other clubs can't compete with us
I post on a Welsh Rugby site, already had the "it's turned into the Bundesliga" comments this morning.
I posted a reply of "Utd won it 13 times in 20 years, Liverpool won the first division 10 times in 14 years, no one seemed to have an issue then".
No replies yet ha

Watching motd seems Riley has gone to plan B in manipulating the teams that could take top four from the scum! Kane was inside and the goalie didn’t get fouled! Maybe we will get a couple of decisions against Arsenal ;)
