What a shithole/day that was

I still reckon 0-2 at Bury in the 72-73 League Cup was worse.
We were falling apart by the time we played Halifax and lost 1-0. When we played Bury we'd finished the previous season just one point behind the champions. - Both Bury and Halifax were in the fourth division when we played them.
I'm sure some will put in a shout for 0-3 at third division Bolton in 71-72, but at least I didn't go to that one.

It's long been rumoured that half the dickheads from many London clubs turned up that night.
It wasn't all ticket as Luton had a replay in the previous round and didn't have time to print and distribute tickets. Watford anticipated trouble and printed tickets just in case they won the replay.
That was the allegation at the time.

Me and my childhood best mate were 10 and City fans in 1980. We went to loads of City games with our dads (who were also best mates), we had matching City shirts, we bought those awful chunky City bracelets from the club shop etc, but after that Halifax game he became a rag overnight! He works in the paper media now. Says it all really…..

The DT this morning, I think, has broken its record for a report on an FAWSL game. We have thirty column inches with a graphic. Only thing is that the graphic is wearing a CFC shirt. Thirty fuckin' inches - twice as much as the AfCoN where Mané won it single footed, and without sticking a foot in an oppo goalie's gob! Yer can bet yer sweet bippy that if we'd have got at least a point out of that game the report wouldn't have stretched to thirty column millimetres.
