This is all only succeeding in what it set out to do. Bait blues then watch as some OTT replies result in Lee pointing them out saying “look, I told you” before inviting a pile on from fans of all other clubs calling us out. It’s all very unedifying but the way of the modern world of football fandom.
I shudder to think how the landscape looks 10 years down the line in regard to sports or more accurately football journalism.
It’s a race to the bottom as it stands.

Can see why some felt it was a loaded question and are a bit wary, especially after Nick Harris' recent sham questionnaire, but Lee is hardly in the category as Harris. Not entirely sure what the purpose of his article is though, given that the middle ground he mentions probably represents the vast majority of City fans (certainly those that I know, at least). I doubt we'll be getting any unique insight into how most of us already think, but I'll reserve judgement until the article is published.

For what it's worth, I don't care about his background as a United fan. I don't really want a City cheerleader like a James Pearce or Simon Hughes. Just someone who writes intelligently and fairly about my club.

Spot on.

The reaction to it has been pretty bizarre.

I’m in the same camp as you in that there are genuine grievances with sections of the media, but some of the stuff I’ve read has been way, way overboard and (I hate to say) comes across as looking for reasons to be offended.

Agreed.

'Well done' to any club, business or organisation that tells Putin and his Kleptocracy Chums to stick their money where the sun don't shine.

The Western world (and most especially us here in the UK because of the nexus of money-laundering we've enabled the Russian Kleptocracy to get away with) has to step up to the plate and help Ukraine overcome this bully and his attack dogs.

Like you, as much as I despise the people that have run that lot across town over the decades, I applaud the decision that's been taken regarding Aeroflot. It's a shame other companies, town councils and political parties haven't been doing so too, especially this past decade or so..

Yet you still felt the need to also post on the subject, despite everything that has happened in the last 48 hours, a tad hypocritical really.

So he fails on all counts then?
 
Lee comes across as a bit "marmite". You either love him or hate him. Some days he seems okay, other days less so. He made a tweet this morning about the CL final moving to Paris. "Will be good for Liverpool vs Chelsea. When he was pulled on it, he got all defensive, saying it was a" typical City" joke. Hmm. Maybe I'm getting too delicate in my dotage, but I didn’t find it particularly funny. Being a Citeh correspondent, it would have been just as easy to type "City vs".
