That’s embarrassing. It’s funny that I was frustrated with Rice, Henderson & Shaw for not being in the right position to receive, not playing right ball or hesitating. So many papers give them better marks.

Peps completely changed the way I see the game.
you and me both pal. I thought they were pretty poor and some of the papers are heralding the best midfield ever. Do these clowns ever wonder why we struggled to find an outball for the first 30 minutes yesterday before giving up and play hoof ball.

not that it matters much. You would not watch this world cup if you were interested in new boundary pushing tactics. For that you need to watch City.

Over 20 England related articles in the fail & Phil only gets a write up (at the bottom) because he praises Bellingham, Samuel does mention him for being the first player since whatshisname in 2002 to get 2 assists in 1 WC game further down his article, but it seems Phil is being airbrushed despite contributing the same as the England captain in half the game time
Same for Stones.

I'm not usually one for this "the media are trying to airbrush us out of the picture" stuff but Sky have triggered me this morning.

Chelsea as his present team gets a mention, England multiple times and the scrotes too, but no mention of his 7 trophy laden years at Gods own excepting that he had to fight racism without actually mentioning it was all done while at City (and sometimes by the media themselves).

"Once the most expensive English player of all time, Sterling has spent more than a decade in the spotlight after breaking into the Liverpool team aged just 17."

"In recent years, he has taken a leading role in fighting racial abuse in football and beyond."

Phil was key in all 3 goals yesterday.
1st tme backheel flick to break the press and turn around their back 4 for the first.
1st time pass and assist behind Koulibally to Kane to enable a 1st time shot.
Retrieved a sloppy Bellingham pass which was half cut out, body swerved away from a desperate challenge and slipped it through Kouliballys legs this time for an assist as a Saka tap in.
Without him we don't create any of those goals yesterday.
Just watched a Sky montage of the victory and build up to all goals. They failed to even mention Phils name once in the commentary whilst blowing smoke up Bellinghams and Sara's arses. That was deliberate in my opinion. Make of it what you will.

Watching sky the other day and they seemed to be going for a record of how many times they can mention the rags in a minute.

There was one incident not long before he was subbed where he had the ball on a fast break and the defenders took it off him, he was looking around annoyed waving his hands. The commentator only highlighted the fact that he lost the ball, not that he had no one to actually give it to. It must be frustrating for someone like him going from his City colleagues to Englands team.
