And QPR received something like £10m of the Sterling fee

Something I picked up on in the Guardiola presser was when he spoke of centre halves and the Akanji signing he stopped himself from saying John is "always " injured
He was slammed for buying "another centre half" but, as usual, it was another great judgement call by Pep. He doesn't make many mistakes. When you look at the behaviour of Klopp after LFC's recent disastrous spending spree it makes me even happier to have Pep.

Spot on about QPR.

I love Pep and he’s even better when he’s talking our players up. It keeps Txiki on his toes when trying to achieve decent resale values.

It must be a bit frustrating for Pep losing Stones to injury when Jonny is in the form of his career.

Morning all,
Now I don't normally watch but this morning I switched SSN(joke)
Thinking top of table could be effected with a Dyche bounce against Arse City could be 2 points behind by tomorrow evening good story.
Even maybe a section on the 5 nations.

What do they have.
Rashford Ten Bob.
Chelsea spending being great for football....and remarkably Fooking Ronaldo scores for a team that let's face it are West lancs div 3 standard at the best.
Serves me right I suppose ...but what a bag of shite

If only H M Bateman were alive - he'd be creating an addition to his lengthy list of wonderful cartoons (including gems such as 'The man who lit his cigar before the Royal Toast', 'The man who threw a snowball at St Moritz', 'The boy who breathed on the glass at the British Museum' and so on) in your honour.. 'The man who switched on Sky Sports Football expecting them to talk about football'..!!

Your post is bang on the money.. I watched it briefly at my brother's recently (I don't have Sky or any of them) and after two or three minutes of dross it felt like my brain had been sucked out down my nostrils with a straw (similar to watching an episode of 'Eastenders').

TV's equivalent of newspaper 'Click Bait'. Awful, awful pap..

We know that net spend comparisons are no longer used but isn’t it strange that the original club purchase price isn’t involved in any calculations.

It makes me think that the sportswashing bollox was to force Mansour into offloading City by bringing unwanted attention. If you measured every metric for purchasing City, investment, sporting success you’d give it A+ but surely it’s an E- for PR for Abu Dhabi.
Has the 'footballing world' ever spoken as much about Abu Dhabi though since the last 15 years or so?

Puts them front and centre to be fair.........

Interesting that Pep has called out the 9 clubs again. Clearly (and rightly) still a massive sore point with City behind the scenes.

I know it won't happen but we really should have a banner at the ground listing the clubs involved. Might be seen as petty but the situation was completely unprecedented ... 9 PL clubs officially trying to ensure another PL club was banned from Europe. WTAF?? A few hundred million pounds of "white" spending later and it's all brushed under the carpet.

Arsenal
Burnley
Chelsea
Leicester
Liverpool
Manchester United
Newcastle
Tottenham
Wolverhampton
NEVER FORGET

Fantastic.
Its just so nauseating I feel for the children being a man of a certain age I was lucky to have City success in my youth.
Now they have possibly the greatest team ever to grace the top flight but a media that portrays them as cheats.
And their mate ripping them with the bollocks that's spewed.
Great to see so many on match day though

And don't forget they circulated this letter before our case had been considered by CAS. They wanted us banned without any due process. An unbelievably vindictive act motivated by malice and primarily driven by LFC, MUFC, and Arsenal. Also remember that at the same time this letter was sent senior people from the FSG and Glazer camps were privately briefing the New York Times and the Times with confidential financial information about City which had been leaked to them from inside the EUFA Investigatory Chamber. As Khaldoon said: "Organised and clear."

And the media made nought of it!?
