I went to live in London from Manchester in the late eighties. By the mid nineties all of the rags I knew were cocknies.

They wouldn't know where Salford was if their lives depended on it.

They thought I was mad when I insisted there was only one club from Manchester and that we played at Maine Road.

I used to make that point too. I went down in 84 for university then got a job. Mostly know Arsenal, spurs, Chelsea, palace and Liverpool fans. I’m in Croydon hence the palace fans.

It’s going to be an unbearable few weeks in the media of United being talked up to be the second coming of Barcelona 2011. The narrative has already gone into overdrive: "United must stop City winning a treble for the good of football." But I have a feeling that his season is Pep's destiny. He has been building towards this finale for the last six years. This is the moment for City to take revenge on the "dirty tricks brigade" of Bayern, Real Madrid, United, Arsenal (and the helpless onlookers at LFC). Pep has that glint in his eye.
