I wish he’d just fuck off. I don’t subscribe to the Times but in what way has Sheikh Mansour abused civil and human rights. It’s utter bollocks. Some societies have different cultural and societal norms than we do - they see the world from their perspective not ours, even though we may not view it as “ideal”, the World is diverse and we should respect and try to understand that. People like Schindler are actually the worst kind of Little Englander, but fail to see it.
It is a shame that Schindler seems to be so full of sectarian hatred for our owner that he can't produce impartial reportage. It is also a shame that football, like every other issue in this country, has been tainted by the influence of tribal politics. He appears to make a good living on the back of that hatred.

Colin Shindler being a twat in the Times, "City's success is tainted - I won't watch my team."

He goes on to say "The record of the owners of City... with regards to civil rights or human rights abuses appears not to bother 99.9 per cent of supporters."

Just because you wrote a book about City, don't assume you know what we think, you entitled prick.
He has no doubt drafted, edited, and submitted that article via devices that are only possible (and affordable enough for him, his company, and infrastructure more generally to purchase at scale) via effectively slave labour and abject corruption/maleficence in various countries at nearly every phase of production. In some cases, literally directly perpetuated by the parent conglomerates of the media outlets.

And—to be clear—that apathy to the suffering of others to support our lifestyle is a cross we all bear.

But the self-righteous hypocrisy, that so often goes unexposed and unchallenged, is one of the most deeply infuriating aspects of the entire organised narrative.

Does the UAE have problems with Human Rights? It absolutely does. Does our owner hold some responsibility for it? I think he does, as a member of the royal family and now Vice President of the country. Do the origin nations of other owners in the league also have problems with Human Rights? They absolutely fucking do. Do some of those owners also hold some responsibility for it? They definitely do, either directly or indirectly (one only needs to look in to where their wealth to run their clubs comes from).

This is an issue across not only sport but global industry writ-large. And the UK (and later US) helped create (and in many regions, still maintains) a huge portion of it, including in the Middle East.

To fixate on our owners for problems with human rights is an exercise in naked diversion and unadulterated racism.

But the masses will swallow it whole, without critical analysis or self-reflection, because they desperately want to feel morally superior whilst forgetting their duality of being both exploited by the elite and also complicit in the exploitation of many more elsewhere in the world.

It is all jingoism, xenophobia, and quiet desperation for absolution masked in performative clickbait bullshite.

Unfortunately, it’s only likely to get worse if we win tonight.

But I am prepared for that, because fuck the racist hypocrites, City Til I Die.

"I remember when Football was an actual competition"

Shut up you fucking goggle eyed gimp, no you don't.
I wonder when football was an actual competition? Certainly not the first fa cup in 1872. Wanderers only qualified for the final when Queens Park withdrew because they could not afford to return to London for a semi final replay.......

That’s a great post mate - nails the hypocrisy, complicity and misplaced sanctimony behind all these hand-wringing cunts busy telling City fans we should feel guilty for our success, while others are freely permitted to skate over their own morally murky histories entirely unchallenged!

He is one boring ****, he needs tofind some new material the plank

It strikes a different tone to Twitter – the medium that seems to dominate football debate – where fans defend their club in staunch tribalism, insisting with blind faith that this isn’t about rules and regulations but everyone being out to get them. Some of this has seeped into the real life of the Etihad Stadium, where I have witnessed fans shout horrific abuse at journalists who have dared to ask questions of City’s ascent.

It's awful to imagine anyone throwing horrific abuse at the liars and propaganda merchants that laughingly call themselves 'journalists', the very same cretins that bleat on about how important the freedom of the press is. I hope his terrible experience didn't scar him too much, though none of them seemed that concerned about the even more horrific attack on a young girl at the Liverpool game.

Counterpoint.

The staggering cost of failure.
Manchester United, a global brand, and the League cup.

We all should all revel in the cold hard fact that the media are absolutely fixated on attaching themselves through their now constant near hysterical levels of reporting to the success story that is Manchester City.

They know we are the team that at this moment is the most talked about team (brand, as Americans would say) on the planet right now, their mostly inane negative drivel whether they like it or not is all about attaching themselves to City’s success.

They are obviously reporting mainly their usual click bait nonsense, with some actual decent articles/reports scattered about for their own interests, but be in no doubt, we Manchester City are the biggest most talked about sporting club on the planet right now.

If we can win tonight and clinch the treble, no one will give a fuck about the charges, no one will give a fuck about what happened 24 years ago, we Manchester City as a football club are about to reach unprecedented levels of success and people here and all over the world will want to attach themselves to that success, pinch yourselves blues.

Come on City, immortality is one game away…

He's a racist as simple as that, with a name like Schindler is it really a surprise he isn't a fan of City's Arab owners
