Pretty sure the scouse and spurs didn't furlough, it was the intention but backed out after the ridicule.
Scouse did but pulled out once Carra (who would have been humiliated by other pundits) started hammering Netspend FC. They then backed out. Spurs did similarly but very very short lived.

Perhaps not but the Gulf states are investing hugely in renewables because they want to keep their income streams. Sheikh Mansour himself has made a fortune from tech, finance, renewables, and of course sport. To suggest his motive for this is to improve his nation’s image is absurd. It is a farcical claim which does not stand up to scrutiny.
Forget scrutiny it doesn’t stand up a mere glance of his investments over the the last decade+

I can remember that, they were genuinely saying “He’ll dump City when he gets bored and buy a Formula 1 team instead”

The thick twats didn’t realise that (a) he already had a stake in Ferrari and
(b) there’s no need to buy an F1 team when you can afford to build an entirely new F1 circuit and create a new Grand Prix instead. While still keeping City on track.

Small time twats didn’t realise the levels they were dealing with
Extremely well said.

They're the most insecure fanbase in the country, every player has to be best in the world, atmosphere has to be best in the world, manager, best in the world, owners, half time pies, queues for the bar, destroying coaches. For "the biggest team in England" and "European royalty" they're fucking pathetic

I am afraid you forgot;

Best back up goalkeeper in the Eorld.

Dont forget the best at death threats to any player that wrongs them.

There’s no such thing as sports washing. It was a PR message used by human rights groups to highlight their campaign for workers rights. All nations across the world invest money in diverse portfolios for profit. The Gulf states are also keen to move away from reliance on dwindling oil reserves. The idea is a fabricated concept.
Correct. Amnesty International invented the phrase at a time when they were beginning to slip into partisan politics rather than Human Rights. If you examine the actions of Sheik Mansour and City, it is clear it is not a sportswashing exercise.
Amnesty has now gone fully off the rails with their disgraceful report on Ukraine. One of their founding members resigned in protest after 40 (?) odd years.

Rag Central running with the latest premiership record summer spending with a picture of Erling and nunez as the biggest summer transfers , the article then goes on to list at least 6 higher fee transfers...standard
This one?

Unless they've changed it (or it's slightly different on mobile as this is the desktop version) then it says "Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez WERE TWO OF the Premier League's biggest transfers this summer"

(emphasised text is mine)

"Some of the biggest transfers have seen Liverpool sign Uruguay striker Darwin Nunez from Benfica for an initial £64m in a deal that could rise to £85m, while Manchester United have brought in Brazil midfielder Casemiro for an initial £60m from Real Madrid in a move that could eventually be worth £70m.

Tottenham Hotspur signed Brazil forward Richarlison from Everton in a move believed to be worth £60m and Manchester City secured the arrival of Norway striker Erling Haaland for £51.2m from Borussia Dortmund.

England forward Raheem Sterling joined Chelsea in a £50m deal, while the Blues also signed Spain defender Marc Cucurella from Brighton in a move worth more than £60m."
