I don’t really bother with Italian food but as I said previously my two Italian pals (Sardinia and Genoa) both swear by Salvis in town and Vesuvio in Boothstown.
The Sardinian lad worked at SanCarlo for years and said he wouldn’t let his dog eat there.
Best Spanish food in Manchester (and believe me I’ve tried them all) is Bar San Juan in Chorlton and La Bandera in the old Richfields club on Ridgefield off Deansgate (albeit the latter is more Canarian)
Where the Light Gets In in Stockport is pretty fantastic too
Loads of good food about but you need to find it, it won’t be in Instagram friendly wag holes like the Ivy, she needs to be more adventurous
