The York away fixture is so overdone!

Think the real fans should start claiming they were there for Wigan away
I was at Wigan away for the first leg of the semi-final play off game at Springfield Park - what an absolute dump that place was! We actually stood on a hill of mud to watch the match - sliding all over the place! We went 1-0 down after about 10 seconds! Dickov equalised. He did have a habit of scoring when we needed a goal didn't he?

However, York, Wigan etc was for the lightweights. Easy travelling distance and all that. If we want to talk old school lets throw in Wycombe away - mid week. Now that was hardcore! :-)

Don't forget that another major UK ally, the Saudis, negotiated the recent release of British prisoners from the Russians in Ukraine. It doesn't fit with the usual narrative does it?
In any conflict it's always wise to have a trusted ally who can keep contact/ relationship with the enemy. All this "with us or against us" nonsense is just sabre-rattling bollocks.

I've dug out the last program of that season against Wigan P/O semi final second leg as a matter of interest.
I seem to recall the first and last home games against Blackpool and York being sell outs in the home sections when they're were 32.000 plus there.
Interesting to read that out of the 23 teams we played 19 had their best home gates. Taking crowds of 4320 to places like Reading for a 3rd tier club is and was good by any standard, especially for a club with no support and no history
