Klopp's interview in the Guardian today states as fact that City are "Gulf-state-owned" and says we have no financial ceiling and "can do what we want." It's not clear if Klopp has been misquoted but the writer presents these statements as facts. It is a lie to say we are state-owned. Not even Der Spiegl or UEFA have ever made that allegation. We have 13 years of accounts which prove it is a lie. We were also cleared of receiving state aid in court by three judges.
By reporting these false statements the Guardian is suggesting our accounts are false (which would be illegal). They are suggesting that our owner, our senior managers, and scores of auditors have behaved illegally. City must respond to these comments and demand a retraction. We should also make a formal complaint to the PL because Klopp's comments (if reported accurately) have breached PL rules by bringing the game into disrepute.
This latest smear is part of the ongoing dirty tricks campaign by senior people at LFC and we can't allow it to continue without a challenge.
We should also demand assurances from LFC and Merseyside police that the coach attack (and that's what it is) being planned for tomorrow is prevented from happening instead of being facilitated as it was last time. If they can't provide protection for our players we should ask for a postponement.
