Today, I am reading that Manchester United snubbed the chance to buy Alvarez. Last week, I heard that Ole recommended Haaland and United turned it down. The delusion is very, very real.
Bloody hell that stirred an ancient memory. I remember a rag in 1981 after Sexton was sacked claiming that he‘d said afterwards that he had the chance to sign Kenny Dalglish and it could have made all the difference.
It’s too far ingrained to ever go away.

Lampard was getting in on that, saying he told Chelsea to sign Haaland. The lad was one of the most highly rated youth players of the last decade, not some unknown quantity. Its pathetic that largely failed managers are trying to gain some credibility by claiming to have recommended their club look at him, I'm pretty sure every club was aware of him!

In nearly 27 years Alex Ferguson won 13 PL. In 7 years pep has won 5 PL

He’s feeling the pressure because as a manager he’s as good as his brother which is utter shite.
There is no comparison between Pep and bacon face, Pep is far superior. Ferguson had little or no competition apart from the odd good run for clubs like Villa and Blackburn then it was just Wenger. That was it until Chelsea and later City came along and gave him real competition from which he failed miserably. Very easy to be on top when you have no competion and tons of transfer cash.

I've just watched this, I know it is The Athletic and people here generally don't like Sam Lee, but I think he's been very correct in giving his journalistic opinion about those stupid PL charges and how they are debated on social media in particular. Chappy as a moderator doesn't stir shit up, but this other fella, I have no clue who he is, is just not having it and we are already guilty in his book.

Wasn’t expecting that , fair comment from two of them , one even came extremely close to saying “ found incident at cas” but just about saved his job with a mumble.
It’s a start

The rags never stop with this crap. Ferguson is always coming out with 'we nearly signed (add any decent players name)'. He said it about Joe Hart when he was at his peak also. They actually believe their own bullshit.

As long as we continue with our current scouting and transfer policy, I am happy for the rags to nearly sign whoever they want.
