A few weeks ago I was over in NY, decided to take a break from walking and sit in Union Square park with a cinnamon bun and a coffee. I sat on a bench next to a bloke who had a lovely American Labrador just chilling in the morning sun.
I love dogs and made a passing comment on his dog, we ended up chatting for 30 mins about stuff. It turns out he is a film and tv director done stuff like Curb Your Enthusiasm and USA Office, had a brilliant conversation on sports films/documentaries and as I had my City top on football as well, he lived in London a few years and went to a couple of games we chatted about songs at games etc
It turns out a friend of his is thinking of doing a documentary on the origins of a chants at football and where they originate, I explained how hard that would be talking about the invisible man chant and his video had emerged of it been sung for the first time.
All that rushing around Philly and NY and it was one of my most memorable bits, just taking time out of it all and talking to some random guy! Anyone else have something similar?
This is him if anyone is interested.

He directed Jennifer Connelly riding a mechanical horse.

Won’t be many chants he could include on anything less than an X rated film.
I’d love to see him analyse the etymology of “If I had the wings of a sparrow…”
Think he said it was for YouTube so that wouldn’t matter, I explained how many chants are used by multiple clubs they just change the lyrics, obviously things like invisible man are unique to City so that’s what to look for first.

Whatever pal
there's no need to be rude to me.
i'm only being daft.

this is off topic,
as such there are grammar wankers.
i am one of them.
we are here to help.

i don't know why folk get surprised when a grammar wanker acts like a grammar wanker.
it's what we do.

it's akin to when folk are surprised that a warmonger starts a war.
it's what they do.
