So buying Mangala for same price as it would have cost to buy someone better is not very smart

I would of prefered Benatia, but if both us and Chelsea had Mangala as number 1 choice, then there must be a good reason behind it. Hard to see him becoming better than Benatia though; the difference in the results of Roma and Udinese with and without him speaks for themselves.

Benatia was playing for Clermont and just moving to Serie A at the same age as Mangala. Mangala is one of the most admired centre-backs in Europe at 23 and City are able to see a big picture as the majority of signings in the last few years have shown. Now it seems City are starting to think about the years ahead, while adding Benatia would mean yet another who will be 30+ in a few years time with Kompany, Silva, Yaya, Dzeko, Kolarov, Clichy, Zaba, Fernandinho, Negredo...

And whyalwaysyou, despite being a City fan who bigs up Chelsea in nearly every post for some strange reason, it's now 4 years since Chelsea last won the league. Despite all the so-called amazing signings, their only major success in that time has been the luckiest Champions League win in history.

Chelsea can only hope to be as well run as City. We're everything Roman wanted Chelsea to be (before he gave up and went back to the 'win at all costs' Mourinho) and has sacked managers for - an exciting and attractive team.

It's a good idea to add at least one exciting young talent to the squad per season from now on, whether it's from the academy or another club. Mangala and maybe Rekik (If Nasti goes) this season, Lopes/Pogba or Barkley next season, etc.

Take off the fuckin biased glasses. yes age is a factor, but if we need the world class cb to partner Kompany that we were missing, for the exact same price, it is absolutely Benatia, not fuckin Mangala who Porto fans are amazed theyre getting £32m for. Its not bigging them up, its the fact that any signing they make, or Arsenal are immediately written off on here as shit, and its cringeworthy because if those exact same players had signed for us, we'd be wanking silly. That luckiest champions league win is still a champions league win, what would you say if we had won it exact same way? Wouldnt give a fuck is what youd say. Lets go ask 100 city fans if they want mangala or benatia for same price, given their ages
