Melbourne City FC Thread

Is there any ethnic split on the Melbourne teams nowadays?

I remember years ago there being a team of Croats and one of Serbs and it kicked off big time at one game, sure it was Melbourne.

3 - 2 to Victory,shit defending again,its like watching united.

If thats the case get Samaras and Karagounis in to get them on side

South Melbourne is the big greek side in Melbourne, but are not in the national league. Think they are still big though. Years ago most sides used to have ethnic names (Adelaide City Juventus, West Adelaide Hellas for example), but ethnic names were banned by the Australian FA.

Its actually the second largest in terms of numbers but that demographic is changing rapidly.

In ten years time Chinese Nationals will become the most popular outside native Australians.

I work in real estate throughout Melbourne and in some suburbs now as many as 75 per cent of all sales are being bought by Chinese.

China is the next big frontier for our illustrious leaders.

From what I read, the FFA has banned any show of ethnic nationalism or favouritism etc from A-League clubs, probably entirely because of this issue.
