Melbourne City FC Thread

Good, but frustrating first half. Awful second half. Got what they deserved.

It's not going to derail the project, but I'm sure the powers that be would have hoped for a bit better than 2 points from 3 matches to get people on board. That performance won't be encouraging anyone.

5-2, can't really say it's undeserved given the way this half has gone. Totally dropped their bundle.

Singing one team in Melbourne now....enjoy it while you can, just like our neighbours did.
I think theres a lot of similarities in the rags attitude towards us and Victory supporters attitude towards Melb City.

The Melbourne City supporters should enjoy seeing those attitudes change as much as we have.

Where do I start. 23 hours since that woeful performance few beers then a few more and a sleep and it doesn't get any better.

Interesting point Soriano and Marwood are here and were at the game, so hopefully they put a rocket in the right areas.

Got Adelaide this week and Brisbane next, both very tough. We could be 2 points after 5 games and in a whole lot of pain.

As I said in earlier threads, let Victory have their day,it was the same as us and united, they dont see it coming which makes it even more delicious when it does.

It will get sorted, these people dont mess about.

Is there any ethnic split on the Melbourne teams nowadays?

I remember years ago there being a team of Croats and one of Serbs and it kicked off big time at one game, sure it was Melbourne.

3 - 2 to Victory,shit defending again,its like watching united.

i read somewhere that melbourne is the third biggest city of greek citizens
in the world

Since the FFA created the A league it has removed all ethnicity associated from any of the new franchises. This automatically alienated a huge proportion of football followers. As the years have past and the League developed some have come back to support a team, but even more have come into the sport that had no ethnic ties previously. Each Melbourne club the "tards" and us have a mix of wogs ( ethnics mainly southern European including yours truly) and neither club targets a particular ethnicity. Regarding the Chinese population plus also Vietnamese and Thai none have really adopted any sport. To me the more promising growth will be the newest group of immigrants from Africa, these populations have increased in recent times and have a good understanding of the game and hopefully come across to City. We broke 10k members tards have hit 22k but have got 6 years start on us.

Hi all,

Went down to my first game in the Melbourne City Era last night and I would like to say a massive thank you to the City Group

-Thank you so much for providing my team with our worst ever derby loss
-Thank you for providing my team with a marquee player who couldn't be bothered trying in our most important game of the season
- Thank you for promising an improve in results and professionalism and delivering worse results than we had at this point last year

Thank you for taking away my club- my main club in world football and replacing it with the most plastic, cringe worthy club in world football. there is no identity with this team. If not for the old heart fans chanting the same chants with no mention of city and chanting for our boys in red and white, then there would be no support whatsoever for Manchester City of Melbourne FC.

Thank you for replacing my team, and my passion. Thank you for you care in our clubs colors and fans.

Thank you for completely removing my interest in Australian club football.

To the Manchester city fans thinking why is this a big deal:

Was your club bought out and made to change colours, made to change your name, and your identity as a whole? no.

So big thanks to all at the city group for ruining one of the great joys of my life.

You are my club, and you will always be- Melbourne Heart FC

Apart from that, did you enjoy the game?

If you've lost all interest in the "most plastic, cringeworthy club in world football" why do you care what yesterdays result was?

I can understand why people might feel put out by the changes made to Melbourne Heart, and for many that will never change. But to be moaning about the first three games seems a bit shortsighted to me. Things didnt start off all that well for us under the new ownership either. 9th to 10th in our first year and a whole lot of growing pains.

It got better for us, as it will for Melbourne City. You may feel that you can't join in with that and thats a very personal decision for every Melbourne supporter to make. But most of your criticisms are a bit ridiculous to be honest.
