Melbourne City FC Thread

2 each Maclaren and Tilio,Thanks Heartman for the early(for us) wake up call regards the game.Forwards got very greedy towards the end .Still a walk in the park last 30 mins.

Not sure if you get any of the post match coverage. But for 30 minutes was dedicated how Victory lost the game and all the permutations on how they can squeeze into the finals.

When we have now moved 5 points clear and look like being the first team in A League history to win 3 premiers plates in a row and qualify outright for next seasons Asian Champions League.
Back in the early days when Victory were the big club and Melbourne City we're growing like we did in the UK the coverage and tone was exactly the same as City/United.

I can sort of understand it in the UK with the raggy infested media but I was quite shocked years ago how Aussie City were looked down on and everything was centred & pushed around glorious victory.

At the end of the day it just builds love for our teams within ourselves and makes every result sweeter.

Morning all.
Playing this afternoon away in Gosford against Mariners. If we win we will be Premiers. First team in A League history to win 3 Premiers plates in a row.

We have been off the boil lately, playing okay for periods in games but also having some really poor periods. Several players seemed out of form and just looking average. Last week was a relief we finally played to the level we can and all players contributed, I'm hoping this will continue.
Fingers crossed we get the result this arvo and we make history. KO 5pm local time.

Good grief @Gabriel, Pep to Taylor? What a terrible thing to say, don't even think that. Wash your mouth out with soap right away.
I am happy for Taylor to leave the women's team though.
I do agree it would be a tad embarrassing if Melbourne and Troyes mess up.
Why all this criticism of Gareth Taylor?

After losing his entire midfield during the summer, he has done a brilliant job in getting the team into contention for the title.

It seems like every time the girls win, it’s despite of him, but when they lose, it’s because of him.

Okay where do I start.

We have 4 and 3/4 games left.

We continue the Christmas derby game 2 days before Easter, (only in Australia) at 21 minutes with us leading 1:0. This Wednesday.

The team is finding ways to drop points with regularity and the new coach seems to be lacking the right calls.

We have had several significant injuries to our strikes. Leckie hamstring 6 weeks and Maclaren broken toe but has played?

Midfield Richie Van der veene has been a big loss, we haven't really seen Berenguer either as a result our left back captain Jamieson has been shoe horned into midfield which really hasn't worked but is continued without much sense.

Defensively we have been decent but without front 6 functioning every mistake has greater consequences.

Overall I would say that Kisnorbo and the entire coaching team moving to France has been a big misjudgement and we seriously are in jeopardy of not winning the plate from a massive lead prior to the world cup.

We still have a 2 point lead, 1 game in hand but any losses now might sink us.
Welcome back, @heartman. It’s good to see you again.

Your insight and knowledge of Melbourne City is very much appreciated.
