Melbourne City FC Thread

Re: Melbourne Heart FC Thread

With better finishing in the 2nd half, Melbourne could have had a cricket score.

This is the first match of theirs I've watched so I couldn't say what they played like before, but it's plain to see that they are playing "the city way", splitting the centre backs, playing out from the back, pressing the opposition in the middle third of play, and all the rest. They just need better finishing.

Someone needs to shove the whistle down the throat of the guy in the crowd.

Come on you reds just doesn't sit right with me.
100% agree with this, it was painful to hear that whistle every 3 seconds

ended up being a good match and Heart easily deserved their win though that red card was a complete joke, also loved the second goal

Do what them online Rosler or are the available on Cable /Sat over your neck of the woods?

Heart may go from being winless in their first 14 games to making the top six ( LOL ).

Whistle wasn't down our end... And yes it was fucking annoying.

Massive win for us last night, still buzzing!!

Thought the red was pretty dubious myself at first. But found these on twitter on the train ride home...

Coming good at the right time of the season. JVS certainly has the boys playing for him, and having Engelaar and Germano back in the squad has made a massive difference.

Welcome to the forum. If you take a peek at the Code of Conduct ("CoC", N.B. it is pronounced "sock" not "cock" or "coke") you'll note a list of proscribed words and phrases, and "massive" is on the list. Please use the alternate suggested spelling "massif" or employ a synonym. Cheers.

To be honest it was a long time since the rags tried to rile us with the "massive" moniker I think.. Somehow it got stuck in their throat lately

Exactly.I think we [players and fans] use it a a self depreciating phrase to throw back in their faces now. All they can do now is circle the odd empty seat and laugh when we draw at Southampton.

Yep. It's been my opinion for some time that we should start appropriating the phrase in the same way that "This is how it feels to be City" has been so thoroughly reclaimed by ourselves that City themselves have just used it as the name of a competition on the social media outlets. Time to rip all the sticks that the rags have previously used to beat us with right out of their hands IMO.
