Evans and Pool. Hope they make it. :-)
Poole with a nee Pal :)

James was offered a 3 week trial by Brian Marwood who has always looked after him.

He is busting a gut to get a gig out if this one. He is a free agent and has a couple of fall back options but he fancies seeing the world.

Good luck J.

Uncle TB
Spell checker gets me again ;-)

It'd be great if he was to get a contract with Melbourne. Maybe it could lead to NYCFC afterwards. Might not be the greatest salaries by footballer standards but a better career choice than league 1 or 2 IMO.

If they are going for our ex-academy players, they should look no further than Greg Cunningham and Kieran Trippier IMO.

No offense but why the hell would Kieran Trippier move to Australia and ruin his football career?

He has twice (12/13 and 13/14) been named in Championship Team of the Season, he played 41 games in Burnleys promotion to the premier league last year and finally gets a chance at premier league football this year. Signed a new contract with Burnley in May and not long ago there was rumoured interest from Arsenal.

I agree also think Kieran will be a Prem regular from now on.

If he plays his cards right Russia 2018 and Championnat d'Europe de football 2016 should be in sight.

To win a top division title, and possibly a champions league, to play alongside players like David Villa, Damien Duff and Franky Lampard, to be part of something unique and become a hero on another continent!

Although if there is interest from Arsenal then fair enough, I had not heard this, and agree that it would be a far better option at this stage of his career.

If he transfers how he's been playing into the premier league then he has a great chance.

Difference is Trippier has different goals to the players you mention. Duff, Villa, Lampard aren't playing to become heroes on another continent, they're looking for one final pay day which they've earned so fair play to them. To a young English lad like Trippier he'll be looking to play premier league football with an outside hope of playing for England or possibly the Uefa Champions League at one point, you just don't reach them goals playing in the Australian League.

According to reports, they've just signed Robert Koren after he left Hull on a free.

The Melbourne fans seem to be divided between those who think he's a very tidy signing and those who are aggrieved that he's not a big enough name for a club which is trying to have a revolution in publicity and attractiveness to new fans (bearing in mind that if he signs, Melbourne will not be able to sign any more foreign "marquee" players so he will represent the peak of their spending).
