Can anyone help me here? I'm trying to find out who this fixture was against. I thought it was against Sunderland but it doesn't match up and here is what I know- the kippax didn't have a roof yet, pretty sure Nicky Summerbee was playing and I believe it was he who shot at goal but the pitch was so waterlogged that the ball just stopped on the line(!) It was absolutely freezing that day and I'm pretty sure we lost

The only waterlogged game I can remember was against Ipswich but that was early naughties I think

The Kippax not having a roof and Nicky Summerbee playing couldn't have happened surely? Or perhaps my memory has gone?

I remember a match being called off after about 20 minutes due to a water logged pitch. It was around 1994 96ish.

I'm pretty sure Summerbee was playing, possible Terry Cooke.

Ipswich, Norwich can't remember. I've slept since then.

Ipswich '94 winning 2-0 at half time then called off

The season after the Kippax terrace came down, was there not temporary uncovered seating there for at least some of that season?
'Nicky Sumerbee playing couldn't have happened', does make sense though, as though he was on the pitch he often didn't really play did he! (frustrating wasn't he!)
Actually think we had 2 matches called off at Maine Road during 'my time', both bizarrely against Ipswich I believe.

Yeah, strange coincidence. Pretty sure the only two City games abandoned in at least the last 40 years were both at home to Ipswich, within a couple of years of each other.

The old Kippax was still fully in place for the ipswich game, and Summerbee was playing for Swindon still.

Ive got a vague memory of it pissing down against Leicester and getting beat, would of been early 95?
