Never been to Menorca but I’ve got 10 hours to kill on Sunday. What would you recommend doing in this limited timeframe? I’m thinking of renting a car, or doing a boat trip to pass some time? Any ideas?

Only back from Menorca last week. You've got a problem as you are getting in on a Sunday....on a Sunday most shops, etc and a lot of restaurants are closed in Ciutadella and Mahon

Ciutadella is a great shout, but bare in mind it's the other side of Menorca, so will take an hour to get to (and an hour back).

Rather than renting a car, can I make a suggestion, get a 10-15 min taxi to Mahon. It's a lovely old small city built on a cliffface. Nice town square, 2 main streets packed with restaurants / coffee shops etc with lots of lovely little walks through beautiful architecture and the odd church with lots of lovely views out on to the harbour in places.

And talking of the harbour, 2nd biggest natural harbour in the world. Pop down to it and take a hours catamaran trip out to see the full length of it and you will see the areas the locals go to for food and drink and if the weather is good, see the bottom of the glass boat and the fish. Bar on board and had a wonderful trip out on it.

There is a really good bus service on the island, you'll probably find a bus goes to Mahon that would suit your needs, but again, Sunday service.

I loved both places. Ciutadella had a little more of the wow factor for me, you'll enjoy whichever you choose to do,

Thanks mate. Im flying in/out of Mahon. Land at 10 and and depart around 9ish. I’m thinking hire a cheap car and drive up to Ciutadella for a few hours, grab some lunch, swim, watch the football somewhere etc then head back.

I think you might struggle with swimming as both placed are harbours, so not much beach if any.

You may also stuggle to watch the Arsenal Game if it clashes with any La Liga games, you might want to consder a traditional holiday resort to be sure of finding somewhere showing it

Thanks for the info mate. Mahon probably sounds like the best shout I think. Which are the main squares with the bars etc? I will probably head there and do the harbour tour as suggested
