The OS's patience has run out - Merson is named

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/What-the-papers-say/2011/August/WTMS-Aug-19" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mcfc.co.uk/News/What-the-pap ... TMS-Aug-19</a>?

So what exactly has Paul Merson got against City?

The former Arsenal midfielder rarely gives the Blues any credit in his role as a Sky Sports pundit and he continues the theme in his column in the Daily Star this morning.

Typical of the snipes Merson has on a weekly basis on TV, he is at least consistent in his latest Star feature ‘Sergio Aguero not that hot’.

Beginning with the line, “I said Sergio Aguero was no Carlos Tevez, and I stand by that.” This based on less than half a game and the opposition being Swansea City! But there’s more Merson views on City…

Merson continues: “I watch Roberto Mancini and he looks like he can upset players, and they can upset him. However well they do, there will be rumbles coming out of that club. And Mancini is too cautious. He reminds me of George Graham. They would both rather win 1-0 than 5-2.

“There’s nothing wrong with that, but when United go away from home they try to win every time. City went away last season and played as though they were trying not to lose.”

We’ll have to presume Merson didn’t see last season’s Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium then when the Reds were anything but adventurous! Whatever his gripe, the Blues have clearly upset the ex-Gunner at some point and no doubt Sergio will prove him wrong in the coming months - and we'll stand by that, Merse.

Aguero not that hot? Years of stuffing the devils dandruff up your snozzer has finally took its toll with him. A tit of the highest order.

I can't believe the dirty crackhead said all that without stuttering.

the guy is running scared, see it every week in his face, his demotion to talkshite must be imminent?

The man's a fucking idiot. I cannot stand him on Sky irrespective of which team he is making up bullshit about. To be honest, I didn't think he could write so am quite surprised he has worked so hard to get himself as column in a red-top. Well done you idiot.

He's another example of the failed policy of "care in the community"

The man is a crackhead **** who couldn't write a decent minimally neutral article to save his life, we should take no notice of this ****'s opinions or his bias, he is just another one of the haters, but even before the takeover he disliked us with a passion

I'm shocked no one has pointed out to Merson that we had a far superior away record than Utd "who always try to win away" last season.

Delusional crack head.

Plenty of other commentators started last season very critical of City, but at the end of the season most of them had somehow managed to modify their views without going so far as to admit they were plain wrong.

Merson made the mistake of maintaining his anti City stand for so long that now he just cant afford to lose face by admitting he was wrong.

Where can I see this official blacklist?

Unfortunately Manchester United fans aren't allowed to see it.

Blacklist? Yeah, Garry Cook spends his days writing out lists of names of people who have slagged City off. The term "your card is marked" could have quite easily been used instead. The same goes for you.

In Bernard Halford's executive lav

lest we forget about the credentials of the Sky Pundits:

Paul Merson played for Arsenal

Charlie Nicholas played for Arsenal

Alan Smith played for Arsenal

and

Phil Thompson played for Liverpool

Mat Le Tissier played along the South Coast

Gary Neville played for ...I forget

Indeed, second best away record and better than the rags' but do you think facts will work with a guy like Merson? Even if someone was to point that out to him he'd emphasise the 'try' and the actual results are irrelevant. Yes, I do believe he is that dumb.

Let's be honest here, the poor bloke probably walk and alk at the same time.
So asking him to be objective in his job is pushing it, he has motor functions sure, but not much after that.
