Started to watch a lot of Spanish football on Sky lately and these two players have been phenomenal. They are both game changers which are few and far between in world football and with their unique almost futuristic vision and reading of the game can make a huge impact.

Messi has scored 109 goals in 162 games for Barcelona at 23 years of age thus making him a legend already scoring 37 goals this season (stat taken from Hercules match). Ronaldo? 48 goals in 49 appearances, yet only 2 from free-kicks. Love him or loathe him, that is a fantastic record.

My question is this - allegiance aside - who would you rather have in your team? I'd be tempted to say Ronaldo for two reasons. Above statistics plus prior premier league experience.

Thoughts?

I will take Ronaldo to be honest, he's proven in PL, national team and in La Liga.

seriously the endless conversation started yet again

just forget about it please, they're both in a league of their own

Messi has scored 37 in 32 games, if you want to narrow down the stats for ronaldo.

We had a thread like this a couple of weeks ago, and I'm going to bet that the majority of people select Messi again.
