Just announced that Messi will face trial over unpaid taxes.

Yet more dirt on Barca, held by many as the way things should be done in football.

I don't understand this..surely players like Lionel have people to deal with his finances

Hell..he probably has someone to wipe his arse

Surely his finance guy would be accountable not him?
No a person is accountable for their taxes. If you are using an accountant to do it for you then you are still responsible to ensure it is being done correctly.

As far as I know, his father is the one who does his taxes. Messi himself might not even have been aware of what his father was doing but then its his money after all so he will be held responsible for it. On a side note, he may well move out of Barcelona to avoid prison. In such a case, United having a deal with Adidas could swing it their way.

So you've taken 2, added it with 2 and totalled 100,000,000.

Maybe. But then everytime rumors of Messi leaving Barcelona have come up, they've been of him going to an Adidas sponsored club. And there are only a small number of such clubs who could afford his transfer fee and his wages. United and Chelsea happen to be those clubs in the Premier League.
I'm just guessing based on what I've seen so far; could very well be wrong though. He could go to Chelsea or not come to England at all or not even move out of Barcelona in the first place!

I hear Barcelona prison is also sponsored by Adidas so he'll probably end up there.
