It's clear that even Messi didn't like the move to Nike.

Signing Tevez is completely different to signing Messi. It's pretty clear what motivates Tevez, and of course he has never been regarded as the best player in the world. I would have used Aguero as an example over Tevez, but again he too has never been regarded as the best player in the world, and there are many clubs who could have bought him as he was always going to leave Atletico. Messi is at the biggest club in the world and has been since he was a kid. He scores obscene amounts of goals and would command a fee, IMO, in the region of £90m+, if Ronaldo was worth £85m when he moved to Madrid. Then there is the question of other clubs becoming interested should he ever be made available. Players like Tevez are always available.Prestwich_Blue said:While you simply can't contemplate Messi leaving Barca it might not be so daft as it seems thinking about it. Who ever thought we'd land Carlos Tevez?
I said the other day that I thought someone had stitched Messi up over his tax affairs and if you were to find out who that was then you'd know why.
Also Rosell complained in January we were trying to "sign players from all levelsof the club structure". The general consensus is that it was Barca who leaked the news about Pellegrini and Rosell is threatening Soriano over the email monitoring claims. We also supposedly stuck our oar firmly in the Neymar transfer if the stories are to be believed.
Of the course the downside is that Messi is the established star and Neymar is the unknown quantity so you wouldn't sell him just in case Neymar doesn't quite work out. Also he's Barca through and through plus I think he's with Adidas and our new kit manufacturer Nike probably wouldn't be too happy, although it would certainly shift some shirts. Be interesting to see the interaction between Messi and Neymar this season.
