Kinell! Saw a couple of ambulances on the tracks but that certainly puts being stuck on a tram while busting for a piss into perspective

Someone died and it was stopped to allow an air ambulance to land..not everything is metrolink fault sometimes there's reasons outside their control which cause services to be haltedThey are fucking shite, well shite is being kind! Call the fuckers up if you can get a signal.

Well nobody knew that at the time did they? The message posted was they'd stopped and had been there for a while with no announcement. Condolences to the deceased.

However I do agree that they should sometimes be clearer about why there are hold ups. :-)
I guess it’s like every line of business one can never tell when something/someone is going to disrupt it.

I wasn't on the tram but this was the message I responded to.
,"Been stuck on a stationary tram outside New Islington for 25 minutes now. After one brief announcement heard nothing more. Passengers getting ansty and mutinous"
Obviously trying to save somebody's life takes precedent over a tram moving but 25 minutes on a possibly crowded tram with no real information wouldn't be pleasant and could also cause further health issues for those onboard. If people onboard knew the reason then I'm sure they wouldn't be ansty and mutinous as quoted. As I said condolences to the deceased and injured in this tragic incident.

I was on the tram that was held up. Have waited longer In Tescos.
Some people just get so unnecessarily agitated at the slightest thing (and this was a medical emergency - obvious from what the driver told us and the blue lights going past). Condolences and sympathies to those affected, RIP.
One mature woman, - who incidentally had a seat, took it upon herself to shout at the driver and get up to bang on his window. Wouldn't like to be stuck in the lift with some of the morons on that tram - embarrassing, selfish performances.

I always walk into Town and pick a tram up there after a match because it is always going to be busy afterwards. Every sporting venue in the World, of any sizeable crowd is. Whether last night was a twisted ankle, a stuck car, a cat on the tracks, a tired player - whatever,; unfortunately this turned out to be something rather more serious and tragic - the behaviour of some was unwarranted and ridiculous.

I did get stuck for half an hour.Was that the same one I was on that was stuck for half an hour?
My mate is a driver and he says they have started running direct services on the quiet from some of the outer stations - depending on driver availability- but for some reason don’t promote them, even the boards said Piccadilly rather than Etihad Campus.
Normally timed to arrive an hour before kick off so probably leaving East Dids at 6.20 tonight, 1:20 for a 3pm
Will try and get on the direct tram on Saturday.

People can be great in emergencies and despicable too.
One incidence that I remember when I worked on the ships was a good example. We had just left Calais when we had two medical emergencies in the food court. Both heart attacks and as the first aid team worked to try and keep them alive the ship returned to Calais at full speed to get them off and to a hospital. I was tasked along with other crew with keeping people away from the area of the incident. Tannoy announcements had been made by crew and the captain explaining exactly what was happening. In spite of this people were moaning why they couldn't go into the cordoned off area and "How long are we going to be delayed for?" as two poor buggers fought for their lives. I tore a strip off one bloke giving a young stewardess a load of grief. I told him in no uncertain terms how selfish he was and that if it was him lying fighting for his life then I'm sure his family would want us to do everything we could to save him. As he bristled with outrage I cut him a withering look and added, "Or maybe not." On the other side of the coin we always got off duty medical staff volunteer their help in such cases and most people are sympathetic. They understand it could easily be themselves or one of their loved ones in such an unfortunate position.
