Metrolink to / from Etihad

There was one on Wednesday as well, Andre Rieu was there. Do not know when that finished maybe after our match?
And one at the O2 Apollo, some one called Louse Tomlinson, who ever that is. Lots of young girls milling around everywhere from Piccadilly to the Apollo. A pleasant sight from the top deck of the 192 bus.

True. Raised this with tfgm and they basically said it’s fuck all to do with them and to contact metrolink and stagecoach.
Got be be 4/10 times there’s no bus towards Ashton after a game and it’s a long fucking walk.
You’d think they could spare a couple from all the buses going into town.
I've only tried catching the bus back to Ashton 3 times and twice I was waiting an hour till 216 arrived.
Was talking to someone about the buses and they said it's better to walk up to the Asda stop as they have a couple of buses there going to Ashton...
Much rather try and catch the metro even if it is a shit service..

Just a heads-up, that next Tuesday on CL semi final night there is a major gig at the AO arena, starting at 7.30. Expect the Metrolink to suffer a major meltdown.

And there's also a gig at the Bridgewater Hall (The Divine Comedy) ending at 23:00 to add to the crowds. Unless they pay for a few "National Express" vehicles post gig!

The travel into and around the city of Manchester is shocking we now prefer to get the train in from Warrington instead of car but the last train back on Wed was 10.15pm no chance of getting back to piccadilli with a 8pm ko

The Mets were fine that night when there was the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford, on at the same time as England were playing a Rugby Union World Cup game at the Etihad, on at the same time as a gig at the AO and numerous other gigs around the city.

There were about 200,000 people going to events in the city that night and it was all fine.

Fylde coast blue travelling to the next home match against Palace. After the last match it took nearly 3 hours to get home by car, due to traffic. Thinking of coming by train to Piccadilly, and then by Metro link to the Etihad. How long does it usually take after a match to get back to Piccadilly by Metro?

Thank you in advance.
You could come off at Ashton, park near the village hotel complex or the garden centre and get the tram in from there, jump straight back onto m60

I hope you're right, the difference is that it was back in 2015 and Met ran double trams all day/night on both the Alty and Ashton Lines along with extra services to Media City. I know because I always go the Grand Final at the swamp.

The Grand Final kicked off at 5pm, the game at the Etihad kicked off at 8pm and it was a weekend, whereas we contend with rush-hour leaving the city centre (and traffic) and after the game we have a full house on Tuesday emptying out at the same time as a 20k event in the City centre and another thousand or so at the Bridgewater.

Wait until the Divine Comedy fans standing at the St Peters Sq stop for the single to Altrincham see the state of the rammed tram that approaches.
