So because its a shit service 5 days a week, we shouldnt complain when they put on a shit service on matchdays?

No, of course people have a right to complain, but it's the ones in this thread who post as if it's all done to fuck over City that do my head in.

This is the current timetable for the Etihad-Campus tram stop.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.metrolink.co.uk/tramtimes/Pages/Etihad-Campus.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.metrolink.co.uk/tramtimes/Pa ... ampus.aspx</a>

The last tram time is the same for every bank holiday this year. The problem is because Manchester's Pride is this bank holiday and our match is against Liverpool, so our match had to be moved to Monday night. Why should it be down the the Metrolink to cater for football fans? I don't see the buses providing an extra service today and anyone bitching about that.

I agree it would be best to provide more trams and buses today because we had to move our match because of Manchester's Pride, but that's something that should be aimed at the council and GMPTE.

I think the problem is that a lot of folk bought season tickets last season for the Met and the service was unavailable reasonably frequently on match days. As City sold them [I think] they must be, in a small way, accountable, and it's no good pointing to T&Cs about it anyone can hide behind small print. As for should they cater for football fans yes they should. Wembley Way would never empty if it wasn't for the superb organisation of the Tube system and the purpose of the Met is to take traffic off the roads not piss people off so much that they revert to cars.

I agree with all of that and that's why I never got the tram season ticket and probably never will because I don't think I'll get my moneys worth.

Why should it be down to Metrolink to cater for the people that would like to use it? Really? I would have thought the whole point of Metrolink was to provide a good service for its customers.

As far as I'm concerned they should be doing everything they can to encourage football supporters to use the service. Plenty of money has been spent building the infrastructure to enable the to provide a good service to football supporters and there is plenty of revenue to be had from the football public if they don't make it impossible to use the Metrolink.

As for buses, maybe no-one is whinging because 1 or 2 of the fuckers will still be working at a time most of us will be looking for transport home.

My point is with so many City fans needing to get home, why not put extra buses on too, it comes down to TfGM (I said GMPTE earlier, I forgot the name change) in my view. And, it would be great to have my say but that page on their website doesn't work: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.transportforgreatermanchestercommittee.gov.uk/info/275/online_forms" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.transportforgreatermancheste ... line_forms</a>

If we're being sold "Metrolink matchday season tickets" then somebody should probably be ensuring we can actually use the service on matchdays.

Exactly and it's ----> <a class="postlink" href="http://www.transportforgreatermanchestercommittee.gov.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.transportforgreatermancheste ... ee.gov.uk/</a>

A couple of hundred on the platform for Ashton after last nights Match and a two carriage tram turns up, too small for those waiting, the metrolink official defending it was comical, are they really that clueless?

Used it for the first time on a match day on Monday and it will be the last time. Three of us paid £3 each to go to town (black cab would have been cheaper) and it took 40 mins from joining the queue to getting off in Piccadilly, as some people have said it is much quicker to walk.

I wonder if we'll get better transport links when the stadium is finished, I mean the public transport is just a joke - I gave up on it and find the car is the best option but with another 10-15k fans it could get interesting.

The problem seems to be that they want everyone to go back into the city centre and this causes the bottlenecks. They should look at linking the Metrolink from Queens Road on the Bury line via the Gateway on the Rochdale line to Asda along Alan Turing Way (as there's plenty of room), giving fans different options. If not a tram then buses or a little roadtrain like they have in Tenerife.

We need one of these!

In the season ticket book we got showing prices etc it said tram season ticket holders get a priority queue. Did this happen does anyone know?
